Diana Krall's voice is the reason I absolutely love jazz vocalists: the art is in the voice and the vocal control. Doesn't need to be concealed with a bunch of techno-junk screeching in the background but displays the true art in and of itself. As someone else pointed out, the orchestra beautifully emphasizes the vocals here, rather than covering it up. This is gorgeous work.

My love for music is as varied as my taste in food. Just like there's a time for something sweet and a time for something spicy, my playlist shifts between mellow jazz, energetic techno, and so much more. It's all about finding the right flavor for the moment. Peace & love.

My wife passed 5 yrs ago. We loved your music. Our house in New Hampshire was 215 yrs old. The atmosphere in that old home with your music, by the fire... is a cherished memory beyond words. Thank you, Diana.

Tony Westbrook , Tony Westbrook ....Thank you for sharing that. You feel those memories. I am absolutely sure of this: not even death can separate us. Those beautiful New Hampshire stars will speak to you.......listen. For you: May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently thorugh the world and know it's beauty all the days of your life.” Will say a prayer for you and your wife this very moment. 👍❤️🙏🏼

Perhaps the most romantic recording ever made ... LOVE the way she uses her voice like a musical instrument through her phrasing and dynamic softening, pitch bending, and volume raising. The two most important components of good music, are contrast and feeling. Boy, this song has it, and she brings it.

I’ve listened to this cd and this song hundreds of times. Diana singing Burt Bacharach is a wonderful experience. She’s the real thing. A master at the jazz keyboard, and such a smooth and easy voice. Doesn’t dance around, doesn’t dress in ridiculous costumes, doesn’t need other people doing the same. Just great music.

The ocean crashes below our terrace dining table as the candles reflect in your eyes and the wine warms the blood. No other sounds matter than the quiet conversation between us and stars fill the sky above us. We walk the empty pathway to the beach, white and bathed in moonlight my arm around your waist staring at the endless horizon of the sea. I cup your face and our lips touch as if for the first time and the world melts around us. In each other's hearts...we are home.

Her classical roots shine through clearly and her style is elegant.
@kimchristiansen23979 ай бұрын
The word elegant is correct.. when she plays it is like she just does it (not talking vocal here but she is good tere too) without thinking. It just comes. I am talking "block chords and pure improv" My wife and daughter (and me but that does not count I am a man) are VERY good at this, but there is a difference between very good and perfect

Diana blends in with the Orchestra as if they were one. She is so involved as if she were all alone, yet each musician is on their instrument as if they are connected with Diana. Her piano playing brings me to tears. Breathless!

This song is the epitome of warm jazz. The texture of Diana's voice, the various movements of her vocals and her diction, the way she pronounces certain words, all these elements contribute to the conveyance of emotions. My old landlady got me into this lady's works. We used to have a 'dining in night' once a month taking turns to buy the food and chose the music. She put this on once and I was hooked. So I looked you up online and found you are married to our.........ELVIS COSTELLO 😧 WHAT a surprise. Such different musicians and styles how did you meet up? Lucky Elvis you make a great couple. I would love to interview you for an hour to learn your story. I was a great lover of the lat Nat King Cole and his pianist George Shearing very reminiscent of their style. If only the great Nat was live today I would LOVE to hear the blend of you and him Diana - now wouldnt THAT be jazz!💖 I have NEVER see you play live up close before or noticed your style and light dancing touch on the keys I find refreshingly unique and and enthrallingly 'Krall' quite remarkable. I learnt play by ear I can hear a song once and play it sadly not as perfectly as you! I have all of your albums now SIMPLY SUPERB - DELICATELY DIANA........WOW proper music X. This is smoother than a Vodka Martini on a Sorrento terrace under moonlight. Thank You for sharing. M👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
