Playing Nightfall always feels like you're losing until you suddenly win. I played it for a while recently and while I won the clear majority of my games it always felt like I just won by a hair. Imo the deck feels worse than it actually is for that reason, you're constantly on the backfoot until you just randomly pull lethal out of your ass and go "phew, that was close" and that happens 7 games in a row.

“The words of the Heretics rang true.” When she was younger, Diana used to live with Leona and the Solari people (and the 2 girls were also having the big gay). Diana was a good student of philosophy and oration, but was shunned because she was always challenging her teacher. She was inquisitive, independent and never followed the Solari ways like everyone else her age. Leona was a brilliant athlete and warrior, but also has the makings of a leader, and was the first one to realize the Diana’s potential. In any case, Diana found the old teachings of the Lunari, who are considered “heretics” by the Solari, and decided to abandoned her origins to follow what she sees as the “true light.” The winning quote is an allusion to the Lunari’s triumph as the “true ways.” Side note: because of their history, you can see that the card flavor texts for lv.2 Diana and lv.2 Leona allude to what would be a bittersweet reunion on the battlefield.

Later she would become the aspect of the moon and would come back and kill those who shunned her. Also she has a lady crush on Leona and there was a story about the 2 of them which is adorable.

Hey, I was the one playing Braum Lux. Definitely not being cocky with the zilean emote there, I thought that the spark just wouldn't go through (because of atro or pale). Unfortunately, I couldn't find any freezes (deck runs 2 flash freeze and 2 harsh winds). Ggs and keep the vids coming!

I found out in labs that the shark token is 1 mana, so von yip buffs it. That was a fun surprise.

It’s a bad card so no one plays it. I would know since I was playing around with it on its release. Problem with the card is that it uses a spell mana to get its value and it also benefits most from Rally effects. However, Rally effects are most easily achieved by playing spells like Relentless Pursuit and Golden Aegis, at which point you will always use up your spell mana and cannot summon more sharks. Other units with Rally attached to their bodies (like Orange Man which is another bad card) are inconsistent, so Trainer never really see plays. However, the other good way to play the card is Scout, and with the Quinn buff, maaaaaaybe it can see play. Problem then is that it’s slow for Scout decks.

That lux Braum deck made a piece of my memory recover, about a legendary lost deck, which was usually refered to as "lux poros" seemingly the first ever competetive poro deck utilizing Aurora porialis and harsh winds to generate final sparks AT BURST SPEEDS !!! ----- Please revive the deck -----

man nocturn is really satifying when you pull his full fearsome attack off, definetly cut dusk rider he is dead in hand when you draw him or off stalking shadows and he doesn't even enable nightfall for your better plays. i would replace him with the 0 mana shadow isles 1/1 unit, actually enables your combos for free and is a target for stalking shadows when times are tough

He had it as an atrocity target that can deal with bigger units as well. It's a tech. Techs can brick, but they often shouldn't

Since they nerfed stalking shadows to 3 mana, it should let you draw a card if it can't find a unit.

the nightfall mechanic is very cool, i wish they create a new mechanic called like "Combo" : for every card you played before this card (apply effect). it would be very cool and work perfectly with nightfall, maybe make it the mechanic for a champion like Samira in Noxus

I'm an avid Nightfall deck player. I was absolutely stoked when I came across this video. Nightfall is indeed the most challenging and unique archetype you could ever pilot in the entire LoR deck database. It has been always a borderline tier 1 deck until Stalking Shadows nerf knocked it out of the meta.

One of the weaknesses of nightfall is awkward hands without nightfall activators that force you to play one of them and missing the nightfall value. Riot should make a 2 or 3 mana landmark that works like monastery of Hirana, creating a duskpetal dust every turn so they don't run out of nightfall activators.

The rakkor, tribe where Leona and Diana are born from, primarily worship the sun. When Diana was still studying the scriptures of the sun, she would often ask questions and offer different options, because of this she was called a "heretic" by her peers.

Diana's quote is tied to her lore, Solari (Leona and her followers in the game) call anyone who believes that the sun isn't the only thing to worship a heratic, and Diana was always like there must be something else other than the sun, and when she found out she literly killed her mentors, because she believes in the moons power (lunari faith), and now Leona and Diana are always fighting, this year riot put out a story that they were togheter in a relationship(kinnda)

On targon there are the Solari (daybreak) and Lunari (nightfall) and Diana was a Solari who eventually became a Lunari and is regarded as a heretic by the Solari who are the dominant side right now and they consider all the lunari heretics because they dont believe in the sun

I’ve tried running nocturne in different decks like with Ashe and trying to synergize with rimefang with wolf but it’s just nocturnes effect doesn’t last for more than the round. I wish they got rid of some attack and Made the -1 and aura effect like nasus

In that game against Ekko Zilean I think you messed up when you didn't block into that 4/2 with your 2/3 elusive. It isn't a bad trade, it reduces damage and works around chronobreak. What was your thought process behind that? I'm interested because I am only OK at the game. Also in order to include Fading Memory I would probably cut Duskrider and 1x Atrocity, since they didn't seem to really do anytihng except clog your hand the entire video. Idk about in play testing though. 1x Atrocity might still be good to keep in the deck though to squeeze in that little bit of extra damage after you've expended your attack token or it is your opponents attack token. It will also work with Diana in a game where she gets buff.

The words of the heretic rang true. Diana was raised by the Solari a very intolerant religion that suppresses any information about the Lunari a religious minority on Mount Targon. During her teens Diana asked a lot of questions about the religious doctrin of the solari and grew increasingly frustrated with the lack of answers by the priests the only person who at least listened and argued with her was Leona, even though she was unwilling to question the doctrin of the solari. Later Diana left the Monastery in search for answers and ascended Mount Targon. Leona followed her and Diana became the aspect of the moon and Leona the aspect of the sun. Seeing that Diana left the solari faith Leona tried to kill her, but failed. Diana went back to the monastery and tried to argue with the priests there, but they would not listen and just called her a heritic. They tried to kill Diana but Diana being an aspect was much stronger and killed them all. There is a really good story about Leona and Diana on the lore page from Riot called Rise with me you should definitly read it.

I made an aloof traveler mill deck that was pretty fun before the nerf. I don't know if it's still viable (Probably not because they wont get revived with harrowing as easy). But it could still be a fun deck. Throw senna in there for some control, and it actually worked out pretty decent for me. Might be an interesting try.

The game against Ekko-Zilean, I would have blocked with Nocturne, kept Diana to work on their board, and counted on the Duskbringers to power through for the win. The reasoning is simple: your opponent has already shown burn and has drawn/predicted a TON of cards. You just can't let yourself get within burn range with all that beef (and life gain) in hand.

Would love to see a video with ekko + sumpworker and Targon. Dont have the resources to test it mezelf, but thoughts for this combination was to use predict en moon weapon crescendum to summon them more reliably, while also use to tools given by targon to keep them alive.

I've been playing nightfall since day 1 of the new patch and it's been giving me wondrous results. Interesting idea to add The Flight though. I wonder if a 1 health unit could actually work. For my case, I had no Flight and wound up cutting Shadestalker as the elusive damage just felt miniscule. I ended up just adding mountain goats because I figured that what the deck lacks is a better turn 2 play aside from drawing triple 1-drops. For an aggro deck, nightfall lacks early chip damage. And most of the time it feels more of a combo than aggro, which also makes it so fun to play.

@@jck4482 yup , i'm just sad this deck needs to be played at a really high skill, otherwise 1 or two mistakes instantly makes this deck lose the game. it's not as forgiving as the other decks when you misplay and I misplay a lot so I significantly lose more with this deck than win. (no matter what, losing too much feels bad ngl)

What do you guys think about playing this deck with "Gift from beyond"? first 1 mana enable dusk and with crescendum you got the ilussive and enable dusk, plus give the deck more flexibilty sorry for the poor english
