Thanks for sharing this technique, Diana. I have a handknit pattern of a leaf, and wondered how it could be translated to machine knitting. Now I know! Thanks again !

What a great place to use the non-roll edging you do (or ribbing???) on the edges to make a cool scarf! I do love that yarn, for this. It makes the leaf pop!

Hi Diana, Can the embrossed leaf be a different color Like doing an intarsia on ribber bed? I am new to machine knitting but an ambitious beginner coming from hand knitting back ground, lol. Thank you so much for all your wonderful, easy to follow and super helpy instructional videos. This is a fading out craft that need more promotions amongst crafter and knitters.

Thanks that's so beautiful. Can you please show it hand transferred for those of us that don't have a ribber
@dianaknits2 жыл бұрын
This particular stitch requires a ribber. You can do leaf lace that is flat, though, by hand-transferring.

LOVE IT !!!!! To ditto Kathryn...could it be done on a single bed machine? I just finished doing a no roll Fern Leaf Border on a blanket....but it was all done in knit stitch, sew as you go to the purl (wrong) side of the blanket.

So the leaf has double the knitting loops right? Because iti s not acting like a ribber, one knit and one pearl, it acts with both needles working at the same time, right?
@dianaknits8 жыл бұрын
Just where the leaf is, there are knits and purls. The needles must not hit each other.

I lived seeing how the leaf was made and generally how the knitting machine worked. I will check into getting a knitting machine, do you have favorite brand?
@bikrgran8 жыл бұрын
Janet, knitting machines are like trucks...you have the "Only Chevy" crowd, and the "Only Ford" crowd. I think each brand has one thing that it excels in, hence many of us have more than one brand. I started with a Singer standard gauge.

Very nice. Can i develop the same kind of imbedded motif for a skull motif istead of a leaf?
@dianaknits8 жыл бұрын
Well, I imagine you could. You could probably transfer stitches to the main bed for just a row or two to make sunken eye sockets. Do it and email a photo! You can email me by going to my blog, slicking on the envelope icon on the left! Diana

can it be done on a single bed machine?
@dianaknits8 жыл бұрын
I don't know of a practical way to do it on a single bed machine.
