Hey Philippe Wow, Ladies Sings the Blues, honestly I didn't know who Billie Holiday was until I seen this movie Miss Ross should have won the Oscar. My favorite songs from this movie is LADY SINGS THE BLUES, STRANGE FRUIT, GOD BLESS THE CHILD, AND MY MAN. AWESOME. Truthfully I didn't like the down home blues music until I seen this movie. My favorite scene Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams In the bathroom. Billie Holiday lived a wonderful, phenomenal, and sad life my heart goes out to MISS BILLIE HOLIDAY RIP❤🎚️🙏🎤 I LOVE ALL FIVE MOVIES DIANA ROSS STARRED IN, BUT MY FAVORITE IS (THE WIZ.)

@@benhamouphilippe ....in Black America....the movie and the soundtrack....CHANGED EVERYTHING.......EVERYTHING....between the movie and YVES SAINT LAURENT 73 collection that referenced the 30s and 40s....i forget the name of the collection.....GIVENCHY did well....and of course ....HALSTON...the MET GALA saluted CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR....the movie....EVERYTHING....OVERNIGHT....we were SCOURING the SECOND HAND STORES....the THRIFT STORES....for CLOTHES FROM THAT PERIOD....my gay bro even refurbished a 1945 vintage CHEVY...and we went to gay clubs and mixed clubs....just looking....BEYOND.....the SUITS...the GARDENIAS in the LAPEL...women wearing DRESSES...and COCKTAIL HATS......the film was DIRECTIONAL....ASPIRATIONAL....even the ALBUM COVER IMAGE....was COMPELLING....because we all ....just KNEW...we wore the SOUNDTRACK OUT....my mom got SICK OF US PLAYING IT.....GRANNY TOO....she would just take it off of the record player...the soundtrack was on top of the SOUL charts for about 2 YEARS....BOB MACKIE....his career went into ORBIT....just another DIMENSION...we IDOLIZED HIM...and DIANA....and BILLIE DEE....we IDOLIZED THEM....oh....and the POINTER SISTERS TOO....we IDOLIZED THEM....my mom would tell us how they wore the clothes back in the day...and we just watched all those movies from the 40s and 50s....late at night....and we just ATE THEM UP.....the influence continued for about a good 10 years after the movie....with groups like...THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER....DR BUZZARDS ORIGINAL SAVANNAH BAND....and most importantly,....CHIC......we all were DEVASTATED that DIANA DID NOT WIN THE OSCAR....but it let the PLANET KNOW....that she could do ANYTHING....ANYTHING....we just saw her as the TRUE SUPERSTAR....of AFRICAN AMERICANS....
