MovieJon He violates every single rule of interviewing. It's tough to watch. Normally you'd leave the interviewee the chance to walk-back the Crawford stuff, or to elaborate. Did you have any actual interactions with her? Anyone who knows about Crawford knows she was a taskmaster who lived on first impressions. Find out what soured her on the person you are interviewing.

What a great interview. Diane McBain grows more beautiful as she ages. And what a sweet personality. I wish she had done more film work. I knew an actress from Diane's era, in fact she was married to Troy Donahue for a few years. All of them had such great personalities. Sadly lacking today in this Kardashian world.

Skip Lowe has an unique turn of phrase when he says at 11:47 about Richard Burton giving her pointers in the movie Ice Palace He should said he assisted her in her acting scenes. He does not ask about Diane McBain's' being attacked by those men , although she does make a subtle reference to it when she talks about different programs at the end of the interview. She seems to be a strong, upbeat women who is not chained to the past glamourous life. Working with Miss Colbert and Miss Crawford must have been challenging since they were her age back in the 1920s at the time .. ;

When was this interview filmed? I had seen her on several TV shows in the '60s, but the first time I saw her on screen was in "The Mini-Skirt Mob" in 1968.Not a very good movie by any means, but she was so incredibly sexy it made sitting through that thing bearable. I was blown away by how staggeringly beautiful she still is all these years later.

Ron Green In reference to what year ; U said early 90s, but on the clip at approximately 11:12, when asked about working w/ Richard Burton, she makes a remark saying ...."he IS a great actor." By referring to him as still alive,that would mean before Aug 1984, which was when Burton died. I have seen copyrights on Skip E's shows before, that's odd to 4get it. Glad you brought it to our attention. Anyway, this is only a clue as to the date, or I should say my assumption, so to speak.

Please know that McBain is FLAT OUT LYING regarding Joan having her cut out of the film. This is not true whatsoever. Joan did NOT have money invested in this film. Joan's scenes were also cut out by the director, Hall Bartlett, and Joan wrote him a letter chastising him for doing so. McBain must simply have been angry and chose the easy target to blame.

Diane McBain had a great "entrance" in "Parrish" anyone who has seen the movie will verify the scene. Her eyes in that scene are mesmerizing. Diane starred in Claudelle Inglish, Black Gold, and co starred in Mary Mary with Debbie Reynolds and two great Troy Donahue movies Parrish -with the legendary Claudette Colbert! and. A Distant Trumpet. Diane left WB when she refused a small part in Natalie Wood's Sex And The Single Girl. Richard Quine directed that movie and he was the great Director at Columbia who made all those lushly romanic Kim Novak movies. Diane should have stayed with the Wood movie. Quine may have enhanced her role nay WB. film. I met Diane McBain's son a Los Angeles Policeman. Great Officer

McBain is such a liar saying Crawford fixed it so her scenes were cut - wrong Diane, Crawford did no such thing. To give some insight according to a January 15, 1963 letter from Joan to director Hall Bartlett, "There is no rhyme nor reason for my performance in 'The Caretakers', since you have eliminated my scene with McBain, and all cuts and looks that I played subtly to indicate my attraction for Stack. Cutting the scene where McBain accuses of me of being in love with Stack was drastic beyond belief; and my one big scene of trying to sell Herbert Marshall on my old-fashioned ideas was the crux of my performance. Anyone could have played my part as it stands now. I'm heartsick beyond belief." *Courtesy of The Concluding Chapter Of Crawford*
