I'm with you Diane. Diane's tutorials are just what I need... calming and informative. I just turned 70 and like you am trying my hand at watercolour. This one was so much fun to do, I was taken away to fantasyland for about a hour or so. Cheers. Marilynne, Salmon Arm, BC Canada

Hi Diane and welcome to the channel! So glad you found it and I hope you continue to enjoy our videos. Lovely to hear from a fellow Canadian. BC is such a beautiful province! I hope you aren’t struggling in the excessive heat this year that we have here in France. At least painting is something you can do out of the sun. Again welcome and happy painting!

@@DianeAntoneStudio Yes, I will certainly continue enjoying your channel as each video provides so much info and direction vis-a-vis paints, paper and brushes as well as technique. I ordered the Tarepake (sp.??) paints from Amazon as it was the only source I could find. Loved seeing your Studio tour ~ made me feel as though I was right there with you and your farm residents (pooches). Thank you again, Diane.

The Kuretake starry colors metallic paints are wonderful, ya'll need to buy them! These paints are great for all types of watercolor projects from neurographic paintings to celebration cards. I will be 80 years old in a few weeks and am returning to my watercolors. I am consumed with painting! If I wake in the middle of the night I sneak into my studio (formally named my OFFICE!) to paint until I get sleepy again. I watch Diane Antone's videos over and over and find great inspiration for my paintings.

Hi Gail, and thanks so much for your wonderful supportive and encouraging comments! I am so happy that you are finding the videos inspirational. I’m looking forward to the days in the not too distant future when I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep and have no option but to pick up a paintbrush! You’re right about the starry colours, they are brilliant and add a touch of magic to everything you do! Can’t wait for Christmas to give them a real run for their money! Talking about which I think I probably ought to order a new set because mine are getting a bit low.
@dianehall20472 жыл бұрын
Hi, Gail ~ I too ordered the paints and look forward to receiving them. (I keep misspelling the name) Like you, I am often up during the night and quilt until I get sleepy but I now have another really fun craft to do ~ and won't disturb Mr. like the sewing machine does. I prefer daytime painting as daylight is easier on the eyes. I have been missing out on such a fun and relaxing hobby and feel blessed to have been given this opportunity to learn from Diane. Happy 80th and "Keep on painting".

Diane the opening images on your video literally made me go ' OOOOoooooooo GOLD'... Gold really does it for me these days.. I haven't used it in watercolor... but i do in acrylics.. It just 'lifts' an image for me.. I will take your recommendation for Kuretake .... well until i look at the price.. i may change my mind then... lol It looks like the penwork goes over the gold pretty well .. is that right? Where do you find your little ceramic dishes ? My craft store has a very small round one but yours looks larger.. So many questions today.. But i thought to ask you .. i've heard of people stretching watercolor paper.. i don't see you do that though.. is that necessary ? And how do you 'stretch ' paper exactly.. lol Hugs! deb

Thanks Deb! You won't be too shocked at the price of the golden paints - here's my Amazon link: Kuretake Starry Colors amzn.to/3J4eXMz and they last a long time. The nearest I can find to the ceramic dishes I use is this one: amzn.to/3JAFscF I stretch my paper if I'm doing a big watercolor and you can see how in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqqkmKKGlNqUjbs Hope this helps!
