I've been eating them since the early '70s. I want to say that at that time, there were only unfrosted 'Tarts. I remember when frosted ones showed up; before that, we put butter on them, like toast. Brown Sugar Cinnamon is my flavor, with milk or orange juice if we have it.

When I was a kid, they seemed much plumper and had more filling. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or maybe toaster strudels skewed my childhood memories of toaster-based breakfast pastries. I do remember that cherry and strawberry were the best. I always spread butter over the icing, because it made it softer after melting while also helping with the overall dryness of the pop tart.

That's why there's 2 pop tarts per bag incase one gets dropped while picking them out of the toaster. Using a napkin helps a lot with the hot pop tarts.

When I was little, IIRC, the only kinds of Pop-Tars were fruit filled and the brown sugar cinnamon. Half of the stock in the store was the "unfrosted" variety. I preferred the frosted, but sometimes they'd be sold out, and we had to get the unfrosted. So you can kind of get the sense that what started off as a fruit-filled pastry slowly morphed into layer after layer of flavored sugar. While I was still young, they began to develop some of the more dessert type flavors, like fudge, chocolate, and vanilla. My favorites were the blueberry ones and brown sugar cinnamon, though the chocolate pastry with vanilla filling was also very nice (probably very similar to the Cookies 'n Cream). I don't eat Pop-Tarts anymore, and I think the new flavors and ingredients are probably a little on the scary side.

I wasnt allowed to have PopTarts for breakfast, we could only have them for snacks. And that was on the rare occasion my mom bought them. Little did she know in the summer when I was a teen I'd crumble up several Oreo's in a bowl then pour milk over and eat for breakfast. She had an Oreo addiction so we always had Oreo's.

Not sure if they still make them, but Wildberry Pop Tarts are my favorite. Pop Tarts tend to go in and out of favor here in the US, while other breakfast type items are popular. A newer Pop Tarts trend is to try them frozen, and to even use them as ice cream sandwiches.

@@DianeJennings The original microwave was the Amana RadarRange. It was called that because an American scientist during WW2 was testing English radar set and had a Hershey choclate bar in his shirt pocket. He noticied it was melted and warm (not like usual). Hence, it was a "Radar Range".

Another delightful video-thanks so much! Back in the Jurassic Period when I was a kid, I liked the plain strawberry and plain blueberry. The frosted ones were too sweet, even for a kid who enjoyed all sorts of sweet stuff. Also, in my humble opinion, the alleged frosting was kind of like a sweetened ceramic armor on the Pop Tart. 😊 Maybe decades later, science has advanced to the point where frosted Pop Tarts are much more edible. I really liked the plain ones toasted or right out of the envelope or whatever the interior packaging was called. And I agree with other comments saying milk was the best drink to accompany Pop Tarts. My two cents.

Cherry is my favorite, I like blueberry and strawberry. I think I’m more attracted to the fruit flavors because of age. I grew up with them. Also, if I am going to have a s’mores flavor I’m going to make it on the grill to get the full experience rather than use pop tarts. Then again, I learned how to cook many things outdoors like, well even peach or cherry cobbler in a Dutch oven. (Make a 16” hole near the camp fire, put the ingredients in the pan. Put the lid on the pan, lower it into the hole. Cover the pan with hot coals from the fire, then cover it with dirt and bury the coals with dirt. Let it cook for say and hour then dig up the coals, LIFT THE POT OUT BY THE HANDLE WITH TONGS Or insulated gloves, let it cool a bit then eat, yum!

Well, given how much you LOVE cooking, I guess the next step up is potato or soup😊. For soup 😅I recommend that you start with Campbell’s chicken noodle soup or cream of mushroom or a beef soup. There are other soups than that Campbell’s like Progresso, but I think Campbell’s is better known. Yes, making soup is just opening a can put it in the pot add a can of water, bring it to a boil and let it cool but it’s definitely cooking. Another test might be boiled vs microwaved hot dogs. Since you get 8 or 10 to a pack you can invite someone to join you 😊. A relative or friend etc. If you wanted a longer video you could compare brands or toppings as part of it.
