A lot of women, in particular, find his singing voice to be very sultry and smooth. I find his singing voice to sound very soulful. And I dig it. Looks like you had enjoyed it too judging from your reactions. Glad to see that you liked it. Great video as always Diane. Always good to see you on here. Thanks for the share. Back when I was still buying CDs (awhile ago) I found a Barry White comp in a huge bin and decided to buy it. Full of real smooth, grooving R & B and soul jams. Barry excelled at songs that got people going, and he knew it. In fact, buying the album that day, I was rung up by a tall woman at a cash register. When she picked up the disc and looked it over, she smiled. And said to me, “The smooth sounds of Barry White.” So he remains the king of that style and always will be.

Hello Diane - this man (R.I.P.) was the epitome of the SOUL music genre (in my opinion, alongside Marvin Gaye). AND in my "storm and stress" period (I was between 22 and 28 years old at the time) it was THESE songs that people danced to in the so-called "clamp blues". I had already lost my heart to "black music" in the years 1966 to 1969 (up to that point) in an American club (in Germany) that Germans were also allowed to enter. Since then, I have been terminally ill with soul, groove and funk music, especially Motown and the Tamla-Motown label. I still rave when I hear this kind of music; I have - thank God - passed my passion on to my two daughters!

3:26 So smooth... Good music! I was just thinking: Since you asked for some suggestions about what music to try...lol Maybe try watching the White Zombie video for Thunderkiss '65...lol It's a little loud, but not too crazy with the lyrics. And they had a kick-ass female bass player...long before it was cool. Also, try the old Beastie Boys album License to Ill...for some good, old-fashioned humor. But songs like Girls probably won't be your favorite...unless you get the humor, of course. Or try their album Check Your Head. What else? Jack Johnson? You know Jack, right?..lolol Seriously, though...His first album was pretty huge for a while, in the US...great for 420 and relaxing, from what I've heard, Young Lady...lol 😀
