How To Master Terry In Street Fighter 6 | Strategy, Combos, Overview and Drills

Experimented with the format a bit this time. Went back to traditional approach with strategy/drills at the end + overview at very beginning. I feel like I can keep optimizing these guides. Let me know thoughts on the format!

My guy, very sweet tutorial. Please turn on "Block after first hit" for the demos as it's much easier to visually understand when it doesn't combo as opposed to looking at the combo counter number resetting. Have a blessed day.

Sometimes you already recognized the combo dropped, and waiting for that blockstun to end is annoying when you're doing drills, although i think at first practicing with block after hit is good

I'm trying to learn all I can about Terry as someone fairly new at fighting games and have felt pretty overwhelmed with the amount of information out there. If you use Fire Kick and get blocked, you can also cancel into quick burn if you want a true block string and a possible clip from the overhead for a follow-up mix-up. Just be careful not to do it on hit.

Honestly, God bless you, bro. That was superb how you played against someone in real time and gracefully handled him with precision. You show no type of arrogance or cockyness but rather tell what you are supposed to do with Terry to be optimal. Maybe this doesn't stand out to you but in that live match you threw out a light, quarterback burn knuckle and you said to paraphrase don't do it in a match because all your opponent has to do is stand up and then I'm no longer plus on attack. But that burn knuckle worked in that situation. Also, I really need to learn the streetfighter lingo like di or dp, but what was super helpful was that at the end, you explained the concept of hit confirming and block strings. From my point of view, what you're saying is that once you drive rush into medium crouching punch, you have a split second to either heavy punch into heavy shoulder IF he gets hit with the medium crouching punch. IF he blocks the medium crouching punch, then I have the option to either grab or shimmy backward to make my opponent wiff/miss his throw, giving me the opportunity to counter attack. Good looks

also for light tackle, you can tell if it's +4 or +3 depending on how ennemy character body is, if his face is looking down it's +3, if it's looking up it's +4

@diaphone Hey im already an experienced fighting game player with two characters in Master but i just wanted to tell you that this guide helped a ton. Got me to Diamond 5 after placements finished. The mp hp target combo you recommended really caught people off guard with the second hit. The oki set ups helped tremendously. Thank you for thia video!

nice guide sir! One thing I like after punish counter EX burn knuckle is going straight into HK power charge > HP wave > drive rush cr.HP juggle etc. I believe it's roughly the same damage as raw drive rush punish counter routes, just a bit less and easier/less picky about distance from corner.

Great post! Terry is all about offense rush combos (in the spirit of KoF 😂) Learn and perfect every combo in both regular and burnout mode, to the point where you can actually win rounds without once using an ultra and regardless of how often you burnout. Then to the point where you can take rounds without even using drive rush. It sounds crazy for a SF game, but Terry is so combo heavy (again KoF roots 😂) that once you master them, everything else is just gravy.

If you're scared of super you can use light power wave after fire kick target combo. Especially if it's a level 1 super They aren't fireball immune

with light burn knuckle if you do a st.HP and hit with the tip of the second hit and then cancel into it, it will actually frame trap the opp with the second hit (the overhead). First hit will whiff but you can only be punished by an invincible move and the overhead will leave you at +4 on counterhit so you can link a st.LP into heavy DP. I havent gotten good enough to hitconfirm the overhead during a match yet but ive hit so many people with this i just know its got some good application. probably better than his normal overhead.

Great work on the video. But @diaphone, power drive isnt safe on block. The gap in between the punches allow you to PP or use your invincible reversal in between them.

I think HK is a pretty good shimmy normal. It's pretty trivial to land it off a back dash shimmy. You get drive rush into the target combo off crumple, or drive rush into a level 2 combo that does 4-5k damage depending on if you spend 2 or 3 bars. I think even with just two bars its like 4.2 or 4.3k if you drive rush again into the target combo juggle. I might be off a bit because I'm basing it off memory.

I doubt this will help many people other than legacy Terry players, but you can input 21416 MK+HP for level 2. I personally like using it now and again, it sort of hides the buffer a bit as some people might see you buffering level 2 and you can just do QCB into HCF and it'll still count for the legacy input.

It has a different animation and the geyser moves straight up so it might have a different hit box as well but it's definitely something you can input faster.

What a let down of character. Terry's throw loop is ass since he is only +3 so he doesn't have enough time to shimmy after. On top of mediocre move speed and an S.HP with no reach, its SO SHORT. A big part of throw loops power is the throw/strike/shimmy mix up. And he is terrible at that. His Drive rush is slow. Can't DR into heavy hp + 2 like most characters. Linking DR into combos outside of the corner nets mediocre damage and scales hard.
