Heal isn’t a big deal although it kind of is considering it deals no Hitstun to opponent so it leaves a gap on you that you otherwise normally wouldn’t get. The meter gain though can suck because that meter could be the difference between whether they can throw out an Ult skill/SSBA or not.

Fighting games are pretty fun! You don't have to try to be good initially, a lot of pro players have years under their belts and hours upon hours on their main character. But also you can just watch tournaments and not play the games, tournament play is super fun to watch!

Kinda? A dp is hella important for a zoner, being slow means you can't take ground to force your opponent in a corner, and lots of negative moves means you lose your turn easily also being able to convert off your zoning tools is important for a good zoner

Honesty I've been trying Vikala and from my own experience her tools seem okay at best, and I just really dislike that she has 15k health and the combo route into super feels hella inconsistent. It makes me really struggle in casual friendly matches, let alone ranked with her. Sure, some of this is the character having cool stuff, but make no mistake this is Diaphone carrying the character to Masters, since it's easiest to do so when nobody knows how to use her or fight against her.

I had the same impression that you did where the risk of getting an item without hit stun that heals them when you need it for zoning is too big so people are prob gonna fall back on her other specials. They shoulda just given cheese and heart some hit stun TBH. Item toss / cannon is nooooot good enough to warrant the drawback.
