I don't think you are a robot in this game, I think the power and recharge things are only meant for the incinerator thingy on your back. Also, a robot doesn't need to worship gods or eat etc. Also on the game's steam page it says that you play as "Alaensee girlbeast".

"Girlbeast" sounds a lot like the sort of surname you'd get if you were built and named by people who didn't care about you rather than conceived and raised by actual parents (or just raised by weirdos who treat their child's identity as a toy. Some people give their kids really weird names I guess, though giving one's child a novelty surname would be particularly unusual compared to a first or middle name for obvious reasons). Robots need fuel of some kind, which is what humans need food for to begin with. Maybe she's just a robot that's been designed to run off of conventional foodstuffs; to give a fictional example of such, the "Glitch" in the game Starbound store food in their bodies so that the gases produced by decay can fuel their internal combustion engines to provide power. Humans "need to worship gods" exactly as much as robots do; neither category of entity _needs_ to, but it can provide comfort and help to make sense of stressful or tragic events. Either category of entity would logically be susceptible to the transmission of cultural memes* such as those which comprise a given religion. Plus, what if the robot was programmed and/or taught by humans who were themselves religious? I really don't feel that any of your points hold up at all, Kiwi. Just adding my two cents. *By "cultural memes", I'm afraid I don't mean anything funny. If anyone who reads this is unaware, the word "meme" was originally intended to refer to something a bit more self-serious than what popular usage refers to. TL;DR: I think way too much about what self-aware robots would be like. :P Also, I don't actually think the protagonist is a robot, I was simply pointing out holes I felt your arguments had.

Fair enough, but you have some holes in your arguments too. I don't think "girlbeast" is a surname. It's spelled with a lowercase "g". I think it is a race, and "Alaensee" is an adjective. Like a human for Earth would be "Terran human". Why would the robot need food, when it needs to recharge every night anyway? Wouldn't that be sufficient enough? This hints more at the girl not being a robot and recharging only the incinerator on her back. About the god worshipping - I know humans don't need to worship gods as well, but look at it from the game's perspective, where obviously the gods are actually physically involved in the everyday life. All people worship the gods and they choose which one to worship the most or something. Why would a robot need to do that? It doesn't really make sense. Also, why would the robot need money and a big apartment? You would think that the government (or whoever is responsible for cleaning the streets) would just make a simple incinerator robot that would just go and incinerate and go back to recharge every now and then. Not a fully self-aware cyborg girl that needs to eat and earn money with a machine on her back. And when you look at it from the bigger picture, except the redscarfs calling you "drone", there is absolutely zero hints that the girl might be a robot. As Jon said, it very well might be just an insult based on the girl's social position. However, as I said, I would like to see if there is more information about this topic in the game somewhere.

Touché. It hadn't occurred to me that the character might be nameless, but it is entirely possible. Perhaps the incinerator isn't built into her, and has its own power source. She could be a general-purpose automaton who was assigned her function later in life. Again, why does a robot need to be different in this way? If I were a god, I wouldn't ignore robots just because they weren't organic lifeforms. Such trivial details would not spare them my wrath nor cause them to lose my favor. Why would an interventionist god straight-up ignore what is effectively a race or species of people like that? Seems like poor business sense on their part. Why would they have such diverse followers if it's so easy for them to reject someone on what is effectively a racial basis? I don't really have a strong counter-argument here. I will concede that point. Very true. In all honesty, I do not believe that she's a robot; this was/is simply an enjoyable exercise.
