Dice Throne is such an amazing game. The creators talked me into buying a copy last year during Emerald City Comic Con. It's so easy to teach and the mechanics are easy to learn for a novice as well as a veteran game player.
@joelface5 жыл бұрын
Totally. That's why I love that there are different "complexity level" characters. They're still balanced, but you can essentially play more and more advanced versions of the game as you learn and master the simpler characters... Perfect for casual gamers or people (like me) who don't learn complex games very quickly.

Played Dice Throne for the first time last night and loved it. I bought The Tactician vs Huntress and my mate bought the Marvel Black Panther vs Dr Strange. We played incorrectly the first time, as we didn't realise that the Tactician and Huntress don't have passive abilities. Still really enjoyable games though. I won the first battle, by getting my ultimate off on the final turn, for the win. Converted three of my strategic tokens into CP, to change the last two dice into Medals 🏅 😂

Literally played this yesterday with friends. What I learned from tactician and his advantages is just go nuts on them. The tactician isn’t really an aggressive fighter so I just build up advantages and use them to quickly gain cp, card draws, protect and apply targeted on opponents since that urges the other players go attack targeted since they take +2 damage. As game goes by I just keep any counter cards in hand in case of being attacked or opponent roles something really good.

She lost cause she forgot to take the damage of 7 points when she first got constricted. At the end she was left with seven points while he still had one point. If she would’ve taken the 7 damage (which she forgot) points at the start when she had 43 point she would’ve lost (or better yet did lose). Leaving him with 1 point making him the winner. Great 👍🏽 game though loved the episode can’t wait for the next game 🤙🏽

No, her defense roll would at least have dealt one damage so he'd have been dead, or 3 damage / half incoming damage so she'd still have won.

If I didn't know better, his costume made me think of M Bison from Street Fighter Edit: Now that I've watched the video, there's a couple of things strategically that I would've done to play better(though it was a great game): 1) Sometimes, it's just better to consistently do damage rather than go for the big swings(which happened quite a lot this particular game), especially if the dice aren't in your favor. 2) Probably a bit out of the Tactician's control as that's how the deck played out, but I didn't see a lot of upgrades played. Whenever I play any Dice Thrones(Marvel or original), I don't necessarily go for the ones that do more damage, but I go for the cards that give me more dice combinations especially if I know I rolled a lot of a particular symbol or number that doesn't help out a lot on the other abilities but does on that particular upgrade. I also don't like sticking to any one status effect that my character has and constantly trying to adapt if I have to. The larger the diversity of effects, oftentimes the better I do 3) Both sides really were fans of holding onto the cards they had and weren't able to always maximize efficiency. I firmly believe that if you don't get anything more immediate and are waiting too long for something good to happen( perhaps it's just my playstyle), you should sell the cards for CP to get bigger plays. I'll even at times sell my whole hand if I believe I can do better next turn rather than let it clog up my ability to do anything. You'll always reshuffle and recycle your deck eventually.

It's part of the balance of the game to have the person who goes first to skip their first income phase. You get the advantage of doing the first attack, but you don't get that extra card and CP. There's a turn order card that states this right on it, so it's easy to remember when you're playing the actual game.

Though to be fair, things are missed and forgotten and played wrong in most Game the Game episodes, as well as in most games in general. I've watched a lot of play-throughs and someone in the comments has almost always had to point things out. I also realize I've been playing games wrong a lot at home, so I'm not one to judge. All you can do is do your best and hope that if you miss something that someone else will notice it before the game moves on.

@marks69285 жыл бұрын
It was clearly the guy’s first time playing the tactician, and as the creator said, it’s a complexity 5 character (compared to the Gunslinger’s 2). Also, he got Becca down to about 6hp. If she hadn’t killed him that turn, he would have got her next turn. I don’t think that makes it “extremely one sided”. If she had beaten him with 30 hits points left, maybe, but as it was, it was close. I have Dice Throne season 1 and half of season 2, and of the 10 characters I have, all feel extremely well balanced and all have a chance of winning.

@@VirgilCummings - This game is ABSOLUTELY worth getting. I love how different each character feels. Some characters are really simple to learn and you can just enjoy rolling the dice and basically knowing what you want to go for, where other characters involve numerous decision points each turn and you get to strategize multiple turns in advance as to what you think will work best for you against a specific character. The cards and the dice really play well together to create a unique game, and each character has a different set up. I'd play ANY character against ANY character and feel that I have an honest shot at winning.. and I know many people agree with me that this is a fantastically balanced game, despite the incredible variety of characters.
