The mismatched brick sizes with planks and graffitis really bring out a whimsical and shoddy look that fits your channel, I love it! Also the octopus mug peering through the walls is amazingly ominous.

Nice work. If a part of the terrain seems a bit too prone to falling over, consider gluing a pile of loose bricks around the base of it. The faux rubble will provide more contact points, while also adding to the impression that it's a ruin that is actively falling apart. Plus, it's more playable space to work with.

That turned out fantastic! The different sized bricks was a really good idea - made it feel more realistic both with the planned layout and the more random variations. Also, this is a little thing, but the splotching on the wood turned out quite nicely - and I reckon I'll be adapting that to some other materials. It's a nice variation. That said, as great as these turned out, the originals will always hold a special place for me. Something about them oozes "difficult to explore overgrown ruins" which, apparently, is my vibe.

these look great ^^ my biggest issue with ruins especially 40k is how boring they look and how lazy they look. these also are just more than corners and it looks you can make a fun building with it as i miss that in tabletop games is some good cqb fighting in destroyed ruins/ buildings ^^ making these without a foam cutter seems like a pain tough but def bookmarking this vid once i actually get my warcry terrain finished xD

Really like the look of those. The extra height is great and the graffiti is a nice touch I wouldn't have thought of. Do you think there's a step in there to add a wash? The mortar just looks a bit too bright to me and I think a wash would tint it down some.
@DiceChatter Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy the build Todd! And the spackle maybe could use a light tint of color, but I have yet to find the perfect paint to spackle mixture. Definitely something to experiment with! I know just about every other terrain builder loves a good wash, but I've found it really mutes down the finished paint job, even with some quicks highlights after. Just my two cents.
