This man has courage, to do this at the top of his game one must have balls of steel, the next year (1990) he was filling Madison Square Garden to its capacity (20 thousand) 2 nights in a row. I saw him at the Greek Theater in 1993 and it was packed, men and women laughing their assess off carefree unlike today, oh, what a beautiful time in America, when people had a sense of humor.
@blurgle9185
@blurgle9185 Жыл бұрын
But this humor was so bad? I get like Denis Leary, Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison. They appealed to a very repressed and puritan time where cursing was wholly banned from TV, everyone had to be "god-fearing" patriots and family friendly, anything that broke those rules was fun and exciting... but this? This is just plain bad, it's like the entire appeal was the character and saying dumb shit over and over again like a broken record. People must've been starved. There are thousand of comedians more raunchy, talented and clever than this today, they just don't pack stadiums and old farts don't know about them.
@RichieRichMD
@RichieRichMD Жыл бұрын
@@blurgle9185 Speak for yourself this is a matter of taste, and taste as you well know subjective, just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Oh, and one more thing before I forget, you too will be an old fart one day, you cannot help it, there are no alternatives, it is not negotiable, but you too one day will become an old gizzard, I guarantee it. Edit: Enjoy hour youth while you can, because it does go fast.
@blurgle9185
@blurgle9185 Жыл бұрын
@@RichieRichMD a bit hypocritical to say "its subjective" when your post punctuates with the typical sentiment of "back when people had humor". And about old farts being unaware of new talent is just an objective truth, not a criticism of being old. I'm sorry you're insecure about it. I don't need reminders, I learned the hard lessons in life earlier than most.

@@oldpantsnewjerseythe original commenter is just a 40 something year old who got the very end of MTV and acts like he was an 80s kid but was born in 1985. I can guarantee I’m correct. Unfortunately I can read people within one sentence online or in person. I’ve had to learn this skill from being used and abused my whole life. I started studying personality traits and social cues. There are only a handful of personalities. Once you figure them out, you can read people like a book. It’s a great asset to have. It’s saved me so much heart break, fights, misunderstandings, and wasted time. I promise you, one sentence from someone can tell you 85% about them. You just have to know what to listen for and look for. Body language isn’t viable over KZbin so you have to look at spelling, grammar, connotation, and punctuation. Those 4 things will tell you about 75% of what the persons all about. Just remember trolls and rage bait are prevalent. That means someone is faking/over exaggerating their worst traits. This is a common deceptive tool used by many including me. My online personality versus my real word personality are 1000s of miles apart. Happy hunting and be safe

The same amount of people? He was banned for life. That would have been called “cancelled” by snowflakes like you back then. It’s amazing how many of you act like the 1980s… Where twisted sister and Ozzy Osbourne not to mention movies media and everything else in between we’re all put on littoral trial in front of Congress… Y’all act like the 80s were so OK with everything that came out at that time… No one was offended by anything…
