Dick Clark interviews Bill Withers on American bandstand in 1981. Dick asks Bill if he is a philosopher to which he replies "...not intentionally..." Withers says he doesn't do music as a career because its something he loves. He shares on the process of writing the song he's just performed. About the current music scene, Withers shares that he feels like a senior citizen because new musicians are very young. Withers ends by announcing his next son "I want to Spend the Night"
