I watched Dick Mann many times at Santa Fe Speedway in the Chicago suburbs while I was growing up... one of the masters.

I started watching Dick Mann Race Motocross at Carnegie (Livermore CA) back in 70-71 and some indoor flat track in the bay area - got his autograph and a promo photo and have been a big fan of his ever since and when I started racing Motocross in 1975 I would see and watch him at all the NorCal Weekend Motocross tracks for over a decade - Always the fan favorite and nicest person as well as the fastest man his age on two wheels when he raced - The Last Time I got to see and talk to him was 1986 - RIP Bugsy - You are truly missed but your memories and accomplishments will live on!

I remember him coming to Sturgis in Aug 66 ; by passing Peoria TT for whatever Reason. He easily won both Feature Mains (Sat/Sun) on his Goldstar. Even Frustrating Neil Keen #10 so bad on Sunday's Main Event, that Neil threw his Gloves down on the Track on the Cool Down Lap. Keen who usually won frequently at Sturgis for years in the 60's probably wished Dick had gone to Peoria as he usually would have. Such a Smooth and Calculating Rider,He was a True MC Racer in all Categories of Racing. R.I.P. Dick Bugsy Mann ...

I raced Dick Mann once at Indian Dunes. For about a second and a half after he lapped me and then he was gone.
