I was there ringside, I was friends with both of them and trained with them both. I was at Jose's home in Puerto Rico with him and his family in 1994. Both him and Tiger were as tough as it gets and both great guys and friendly at all times to all the fans. It was my honor to know them both. Jose was as tough a fighter that ever stepped into a ring, no quit and would fight anyone, same with Tiger. Two of the most rock solid middleweights ever.

On few occasions, a slick boxer might get past the Tiger but it was a very bad idea to go toe to toe with him. He was the dominant middleweight of the 60s.

What a beautiful left hook!! Tiger should be more remembered.

Dick Tiger could not have been discounted against any middleweight in history. Would love to have seen him against Hagler. What a classic! I think Hagler would have won, but he'd know he'd been in a fight.

I'm guessing that the guy that kept on screaming "come on Gonzalez" had some money on Gonzalez...
