Something about still seeing this man smile and joke around brings tears to my eyes. I grew up watching Mary Poppins and "The Dick van Dyke Show" was what my grandmother and I watched together almost every time I was with her. She passed away five years ago now, and every time I see, hear, read about, or watch anything Dick van Dyke, it reminds me of those times. You'll probably never see this, but thank you so much for being such an important part of my life. You've no idea how much I appreciate it!

I've read that doing physical exercise is one of the best ways to keep your mind alert and functioning right. Your brain takes a lot of energy resources to keep up. Lots of fresh oxygen and glucose. But also, I'm sure you're right, he was always very quick and probably has made sure to use his brain every day, too.

Love Dick Van Dyke. This guy did it all through his career. Sing, dance, act, and superb comedic timing. Even today, when I really want to be entertained, I watch his movies. Danny Kaye is another one.

I remember when that photo was published (Vanity Fair, I think) and I did a double take when I saw it. it is perfect, as it immediately gets you thinking about the show and then suggests what went on in Rob and Laura's bedroom, even with the twin beds. It's kind of like realizing that your parents were sexually active and wanting to avoid those images and ideas at all costs!

I mean they took advantage of him and didn't tell him ahead of time they were doing that, so it's like they published a photo of her sexually molesting him and it makes me angry and it should make you angry too. He did not consent. Elderly people do get raped. My mom is a sex offender who raped my sister and me starting from birth through to age 30 and she molested elderly people and everyone else she could. So you should feel anger that they dressed him up in leather, lied to him that it was a biker shoot, asked him to get down on the floor and then took a photo while the woman was acting like she was flogging him and molesting him. I've been flogged and it was really bloody for me. I barely survived. This is NOT a good photo. It is not perfect, it is exploitation of an elder by a younger violent woman who wants to rape and beat him without consent.
