I used to hear this song when I was about 6 or 7. In later years I remembered the tune but I was too young when I heard it to understand the lyrics.

I remember this from my youth, but I could have sworn that the lyric was - 'swear that the ORINOCO river, was the river Nile.' Maybe the artiste who sang it all those years ago, deliberately changed the lyric in fun. At an early age, I could not have known this. But it will still be the Orinoco river in my head. These impressions formed in younger days, have a habit of remaining !
