Such a masterpiece, like the entire The Stage album. This album devided fans as always and it meant so much to be able to tell Matt in chat how this is a modern metal masterpiece, like a modern Orion and many other fans filled in and backed that statement. The Stage album is so much greater than it got credit for, a GOAT of metal.

Neil wrote that part for this song with the band member, they picked and mixed it with other stuff from his speeches. Originally they wanted to use a part from Pale Blue Dot but they weren't able to, so they reached out to Neil.

Been a fan of avenged since 7th grade I’m 27 now, much of they’re older music from nightmare and back is so nostalgic to me that it’s hard to listen to sometimes brings up too many memories and emotions so I definitely go through phases with they’re older music but it’s been years until recently that I really listened to alot of the older stuff and I never really gave any of they’re newer music since hail a chance because I didn’t really care for that album so I figured that sound they probably had been sticking too and didn’t bother giving the stage a chance until after the nobody single came out and that song quickly became one of my all time favorites from them like cosmic is now which is in insane masterpiece imo. Hearing the stage for the first time was amazing too, these guys have evolved so well they make music the way it should be made and I’m glad I can enjoy they’re newer stuff now and not only be able to listen to the old stuff and have to go into too much nostalgia every time ha, I’ve seen the band live four times most times I’ve seen any band, def gotta see them live one more time at least!
@Solidus131 Жыл бұрын
Hi! Same here bro, we’re on ‘96 team here! 😂 I think my first a7x’s song was Dear God. I will never forget that godly beautiful outro that made me go to internet searching that song. After discovered Dear God, i started to browse their old song and that made me fall in love into some metalcore song. Couple years later, the Rev passed away and Nightmare album left a special moment for me cause i can feel their pain losing family on that album, and that made me respect them even more. That started on i always followed and listened to their new album. Excited for Mr. Portnoy fill for the late drummer on Nightmare, respected the legend but each time i watched they played their old song live with Portnoy, it kinda felt he just didnt wanted to learn the song properly and felt off sometimes. The Rev used to play impactful fills on their live plays. Couple years later, Arin was introduced and man, i was so excited because the kid was a beast from confide. Used to jam hours to Not Ready to Die and Carry On. These are my favorite drums from Arin. Hail to the King was released later and i understand the direction of the band wanted and personally loved it. I dont understand why fans hated it and i think its a good direction for Arin to learn the challenge of being opposite of what he always did on his previous band. Heretic, Coming Home, Planets, Acid Rain, Shepherd of Fire, man almost every song on that album is my fave song. I dont care if other fans said that some of the song was just copycats from the legends, i mean hey, they already stated it was a tribute album, and even for a tribute, it just got that classic a7x vibes on them and thats the point! They do what they like just like what they did on LIBAD album. Move on to The Stage and i think they really just stepped up their game on anything with Brooks Wackerman on their side. Brooks was the reason they able to pull of that crazy progressive technical song like Exist, The Stage, Paradigm, etc. So grateful to be alive until this time, to see they able to pull off another masterpice album like LIBAD. Cause right now, i got them on repeat full album on spotify. They’re basically The Stage part 2 with the same direction on Hail to the King, but they followed some unique fuse of modern and classic music like daft punk, alice and chains, frank sinatra into their own formula and genre. Heres to hope that they still making another 5 or 10 albums more!

another '96 team here😂 I love this band so much been listening to them for like 14 years now. They'll be my favorite band foREVer. Dear God is also my first a7x song. Your reactions are easily some of the best and I really enjoy the detail that you provide. My first listen to The Stage was front to back in the airport terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta on a 2 hr layover in April 2021. That was my re-introduction to Avenged Sevenfold and really to metal and heavier music as a whole after many years. It totally blew me away and made me fall back in love with them and their entire body of work. Then in December 2021, I became a member of The Deathbats Club and all the perks and community that has come from that have been amazing. I like plenty of heavier stuff but Avenged just scratches so many itches for me with their composition, technicality, and skill in all aspects of their music that has changed and developed over the years and culminating for me, in Life is But a Dream...
