Amazing! I've loved this song since it was released in the 90's. So satisfying to see a live performance especially as it's only a few months since Ramsey Lewis passing. Thank you so much for sharing this video!!

Check the classic/signature Grover tones in the "close-out" phrasing at 7:01 - after the amazing interplay with Butler. Shows his sophistication and grace, even when bringing a song to a close. I dont know anything technical about it, just seemed perfect for the song and perfectly Grover.

LOL I love Ramsey Lewis's reaction @6:31! Almost like he didn't expect Grover to react to Butler's vocal cords! RIP Grover Washington Jr; I lost a younger brother to the same illness as your; except he was 16. God Bless you.

The best natural acoustic sound on soprano, tenor and baritone is Grover's. There is neither echo nor reverb over-use in his performances - be it RnB, Funk, Fusion, Blues, Jazz....

@@ericthered1140 Easily one of the very best works of recorded music in the history of Earth. Spiritual and mystical moment in time
This was my favorite song from the CD sans Jonathan but man he came in and took it to the next level with his adlibbing and guitar work. And I think they knew it too because he was on the next release. Jonathan is the MAN. You can tell this was totally improvised....look at the back up singers.

I thought I was the only one that caught the background singers lol especially the one on the (R) far end she just stopped and took pause it was like she forgot she was working. I'm laughing now as I remember that.
