@@DiconDissectionalReactions To me its Climbing Up the Walls into No Surprises but the whole album is great and it is not their best album possibly I like In Rainbows and Kid A as much and Hail to the Thief even comes close.

@@jameshannagan7830 personally I would say that Kid A isn't better than OK Computer. It comes damn close to it though. And In Rainbows is just fantastic, though it does have those mood swings though which does kinda hurt it but its still fantastic. The hard question is what Radioheads worst album is

@@typicalfurry2747 I always saw Kid A as distilling the sound of Radiohead, up to that point, and doing away with the more traditonal musical forms. I also loved the hidden CD insert.

@@jamesmason3348 yeah I can see why someone wouldn't liek it as much as other Radiohead albums. The hidden track is pretty cool too. Like if Treefingers was extended. Now that I think about it someone should combine the two, I feel like it would work

Hello Daniel. I last commented from my hospital bed. I was watching your reaction videos from the dystopian hellscape of suffering and death while I went through 2 comas and 5 surgeries. You gave me hope for young people. Watching you discover beautiful music brought me joyful tears many times. OK Computer takes many listens and you'll hear new layers of beauty each time. I saw Radiohead live at The Hollywood Bowl in August of 2001. It was an amazing show. I'm old now, on meds, in the hospital as much as out, not long for this life. But I'll keep watching and listening until I go to the great endless concert in the sky.

I was sixteen or seventeen and I had rented the VHS of the movie Romeo+Juliet and watched it but soon as my TV screen went black with the end credits and this song started playing I had almost forgotten about the movie! I was blown away. I had to wait for the weekend to go to the nearest big city with a big enough record store and I bought Ok Computer. At home I discovered I actually already knew Paranoid Android and Karma Police because they had been released as singles and got played on the radio and on MTV. So much has changed in the way we have access and “consume” music! Anyway the first concert Radiohead did in my country after I was there and funny enough it was at the Roman Arena in Verona. But it wasn’t Romeo and Juliet story you could easily pick up from this song if you knew what movie was associated to it that worked for me, I think, it was the cold rage of the verse “We hope that you choke” repeated at the end. The rage that comes with young love when you find out that love doesn’t change the greed and corruption in the world. I was a teenager in the 1990s, a girl that wasn’t searching for sappy songs. This is my little story about how I discovered Radiohead that nobody asked for!

I've seen live countless times, even did dozens of podcast episodes about them, but your reactions and analysis make me want to dive back in and really sit and listen to these albums in a way I haven't in a long time. So grateful you're enjoying this record and I hope you end up going into more of their catalogue. Cannot say enough kind words about your videos - truly the kind of sincere, insightful, and thoughtful music reactions that remind you what makes music so powerful and communal in the first place.

One of their best for me, its wraps up all they do in a complete and understandable package. If Johnny Greenwood only knew what Thom had in store for him in a few years. You get a bit of that tiring confusion at the end, but it sheds a light on how complex a song can be composed even when it uses a couple regular chord progressions.

One of my favorites. Powerful, absolutely incredible live as well. I don't know if I agree with the review you referenced on the chord changes. The song is relatively easy, and a great acoustic excercise. (Am, E mostly, Gm on the "breathe", Asus, A on the verse end. The F# obsession didn't make sense. Even the "You can laugh" bridge Am, B, E, F Bb, E). Trying to pull the vocal off, another story. There were several songs, or pieces of songs, that did not get used on OKC, but were included as b-sides and on an EP Running With Demons. Parts of Meeting In the Aisles and Mellatonin were used in Exit Music, which I always thought interesting. Talk Show Host was on the soundtrack, another awesome attitude-driven song. Thanks, enjoying your OKC disection. ✌️

Great reaction, as always, Daniel. LOVE this song, as well... and it does fit beautifully into the masterpiece that is OK Computer. ...and speaking of masterpieces... yes. You should react to Pet Sounds. It's a monumental album that shows Brian Wilson at the height of his genius. The Beach Boys basically filled in the vocals as Brian used The Wrecking Crew (the best session band in the world at that time) as his players. Well worth a reaction.

@@paulhagger3895 I can understand that. I hadn't heard of Yazz, but I just looked them - or rather her - up. Apparently she is a solo artist, though she was also billed as Yazz and the Plastic Population, which suggests a group. It looks like she turned into a Christian singer at some point. In any case, she never made a dent in the U.S., as far as I can tell. I had never heard anything by her, and I'm usually pretty good on rock and pop music knowledge from 1965 through 2005 (in English, that is). The Vince Clark and Alison Moyet duo was known as Yaz in the U.S. and Canada. They have a significant following here - they still get a lot of play on Sirius's 1st Wave channel - even though they made only two albums, apparently were never even in the studio together for the second one, and both have had more success since then, with Clarke forming Erasure and Moyet selling a lot of albums and winning multiple awards as a solo artist. Cheers.

I disagree with the person who interpreted the lyrics. Romeo and Juliet didn't make a pact to die to be together. That was not their escape. They were going to run off together. They killed themselves after finding the other dead. If Romeo had gotten the message her death was fake, they wouldn't have died. This is more tragic than a suicide pact.
