Their is literally nothing negligent given the proposed situation and event. (which their are no facts or evidence about) From someone that works with the airframe on a daly basis this reads as (Tried to land, copilot and or crew reported to PIC/CoPIC significant roderwash recommend abort landing) seconds after their was any degradation of the LZ this pilot pulled out and re assessed the situation and did what ever. we don't really know. I'm one of those affected in WNC. 90% of what has kept our communities together, our kids sheltered fed and safe, has been local churches. That and far-flung churches and volunteers sending aid. We unload supplies from other churches delivered to our churches. Nothing we've seen has been from FEMA. They have played a role, and we appreciate any and all help. But they get the bulk of the press for 5-10% of the work. Local churches have been the focal point. Food, water, shelter. Not the Red Cross. not FEMA. Bless their hearts.

Look into the people that are providing the food boxes to the churches and what other businesses they own and how they affect the world and I doubt you'd want to eat any of it. No one that I know that relies on church food banks is healthy and I wasn't until I forced myself to start eating wild foods. That area is so lush everyone should have a wild permaculture food forest in their back yard. If they did, the roots would help soak up the water too, but God forbid we live in harmony with the ecosystem he deigned. Give me some canned high fructose corn syrup with extra msg instead... I'm a recently retired Rescue Specialist with a back country certified MRA (Mountain Rescue Association) team in Idaho. In my 10+ years my team logged many hours around different types of birds. The pilots are acutely aware of rotor wash. This was often a factor in determining which type of helo we requested for certain situations. In the video you show, it is obvious to me that this was intentional. The pilot knew exactly what they were doing. They don't hover like that when searching for an LZ - they orbit. Once an LZ is determined, they will maneuver slowly into position and land. Landing next to a site like what is shown in the video with a lot of 'stuff', debris that could fly up and cause a rotor strike is extremely unwise and military pilots won't do it unless there is some sort of emergency. Again, this was done deliberately - no other reasonable explanation for this.

I am a highly trained veteran that worked extensively with aircraft, and you sir, are correct. They knew what they were doing, and they did this on purpose. It was nefarious. Transponders off during any type of humanitarian aid mission is forbidden. Especially in CONUS. I will say also that if it was unmarked, then it could be any other government agency that may have Blackhawks. It is not just a military helicopter, but a government helicopter. That was a large area (LZ) in which to land farther away from the people if they were going to land

I don't believe this was a private bird. Wrong color and no N number on the tail section. Most if not all private helicopter are bright in color so they can be easily seen. And they must have a N number. This bird is either US military or a private contractor with B R or Van wih a guard on the front, in it's name. I'm LE, in an area that is known for Hurricanes. I have zero explanation for what the helicopter is doing, nor see the utility in them being there. We've had some of these worst aftermath from storms and we've never purposely stopped any one from giving others aid. Most municipalities will have easy, identifiable markers on their aircraft as it cuts down on confusion in scenarios like riots, hurricanes, Etc.

Cody, I was an aircrew on a marine V-22 and we are very aware of the destructive nature of our rotor wash. We pre planed and discussed in depth all hazards associated with landing and the effects we and the people on the ground can expect. The sad part to me whether this was intent or ignorance is that we all are American. We need to come together and have self awareness for ourselves and be able to identify the reality of others and do the right thing. I don’t know the truth behind this, but I’ve seen a lot of Oh s**t moments related to military aviation and this looks like that. Regardless it’s not right.

There are not many Blackhawk helicopters in private hands. About the only one I am aware of is Heavy D's. He is out in Utah. I doubt he'd be this reckless. As an air to air photographer, I make sure everything is secured and tied to me. Also that I am somehow secured to the airframe.

If that is a US military helicopter, the pilots should be facing a FEB (flight crew evaluation board) to defend their wings. Either that was a big mistake or they did it on purpose. Either way they should be held accountable. I promise you if they flew for me they would have been. I never had patience for fools or incompetence.

I'm willing to bet that was a privately owned UH-60. We don't know all the facts and if it was a privately owned Blackhawk we also can't rule out it was a complete accident. Once the tents started to fly he did leave. It could have been much worse.

I live in between the flightpath of two military bases. I have Blackhawk helicopters fly over me at least once or twice a week. Most the time other than the medical chopper they don’t have any identifiable markings on them. And military are the only ones that can fly without a transponder on. Have this been a civilian aircraft the FAA or whoever is in charge of the airspace down there right now would be on that things ass.

This really is a reach. Also Didn’t look like they were trying to land. When rotor wash started to moving objects they left. They didn’t leave fast which would really blow stuff around. They left gently. Lots of national guard or Government helicopters are black. Navy Helicopters are gray. It didn’t look malicious to me. We had flight ops all the time on the Destroyer I was on and some pilots were better and smarter than others. It’s possible a weekend warrior national guard pilot made an oopsie. The area where we are in Western NC is also a mountain training area for flight ops. Black helicopters fly this area all time. Some transiting, some training. If the helicopter stayed and blew everything away, I’d agree.
