If he doesn’t come back in some form it feels like a waste and writing Adam off as nothing but an a-hole contradicts the whole “morality is grey” narrative of the show. That and the opportunities of storytelling and comedy with Adam in Hell is huge. We could get his take on what happened in Eden, what his deal with Lilith was, his relationship with Eve and what happened with her, maybe even introduce Cain and Able to the cast and have him reunite with his sons.
@rueenglish93289 ай бұрын
My headcanon is that despite Adam’s personality flaws, he was actually a pretty good dad to his children and good husband to Eve in his post-Eden life. (As a foil to Lucifer who is generally a good person but was a distant parent for some time before making up with Charlie.) This is what truly earned his place in Heaven. I think his family influenced him to make good decisions despite his refusal to eat the Fruit of Knowledge, but because he died without eating it, their good influence was replaced with Heaven’s angelic, inhuman and uncaring dogma yet again. Adam’s arc may involve him remembering how he earned his way into Heaven in the first place: acts of love (caring for/protecting his loved ones) as opposed to cruelty and hate (extermination of sinners who are already suffering). Extra points if it’s Vaggie who helps him realize this.

I fully agree with this video. But I'd like to add something. Adam doesn't seem to have any real personality and has interests mostly based around just stuff he was ordered to do by the angels. Sex? Checks out. How else are you going to populate the earth? Food? Yeah. I'd indulge in eating too if I got banished from paradise and had to work day and night to farm said food. Music? A very basic form of entertainment and it seems to be the only thing he truly has passion for. And yet, other than those things, Adam is simply a blank slate. Likely because he was told by everyone around him what and who he is. He is the first man. The father of humanity. The guy who started it all. But that was just his job. A divine order given to him by Heaven. So if we get lucky and get a redemption arc for Adam, I want it to be Charlie trying to help the stubborn doofus figure out who he truly is. Basically: I don't think the angels ever really let him discover himself and *that's* where his insecurity spawns. He legitimately has no idea who he really is.

My theory is that Lilith wants to take over both heaven and earth and created the story at the beginning of the show to manipulate the people of hell and Charlie, because when I first watched it I thought it had a lot of holes in it. Like, if the angels truly created her and Adam as equals, then he wouldn't have even had the idea of trying to control her. Based on what we saw at the end of the series, Lilith seems pretty self-centered, so I wouldn't be surprised if she saw Lucifer (described as a "dreamer") and thought he would be easy to manipulate into doing her will. She probably condoned the hotel idea (which is pretty dangerous, considering that someone could just pretend to be good, ascend, and wreak havoc in heaven) because it would destabilize heaven, leaving it free for her to take over. We don't even know if Adam was actually controlling back then, or if that's just a story Lilith spun to make heaven look bad. I personally think that he became like that over time.

@Marauxias9 ай бұрын
I actually lean on repressed feelings for each other: Adam has trust issues and is unable to form healthy emotional bonds with anyone since Eve (flings, One night stands...). For him Lute is a great friend and work buddy, but in reality she would be a perfect partner for him but he never realised it or pushes her away consciously(till maybe his last seconds in ep8). Lute on the other hand I belive is quite conscious of her feelings for Adam, but she is insecure in her vulnerabilities (and probably sees them as weaknesses), the power dynamic does not help (she is an underling that could be substituted, he is the friggin' d**ckmaster) and is probably afraid of rejection and fucking their current dynamic. At the end both characters wore masks in more ways than just literally and that also makes their relationship so intriguing and nuanced.

Also something to point out: even if Adam did have a concept of right and wrong, why would he see the purging of the Sinners as bad? While our main cast in the Hotel seem relatively decent people, a good 99% of the population of Hell deserve to be there. From what we see of the average sinner to what even characters comment about their fellow hellions, they are a pack of murderers, cannibals, sexual predators and abd deviants who will force their perversions onto others, and overall prideful self centered asses. Many of them are even aware of their wretched state and simply don't care to change... in fact they even seem to enjoy their sinful nature. In short, they very much deserve to be there. The premise of the annual exterminations is to cull the number of sinners so they don't have the numbers to overthrow heaven if they ever got it in their heads to organize and revolt. While the average sinner is too busy scurrying around just to live abother day, the turf wars orchestrated by sinners with the brains and ambition to dominate shows that the fear of one sinner getting the idea to add Heaven to their little empire isnt conpletely unfounded. So why would Adam or anyone in heaven see destroying a mass of unrepentant murderers, rapists, and cannibals as evil to begin with? In any other situation Adam would be the hero. An extremely flawed hero, but a hero nonetheless.

In his very first appearance, he does nearly every single deadly sin in the book. Also, nearly everything else you say is purely speculation based on not directly seeing it. I understand the reasoning of some people who think Adam got into Heaven through nepotism or the like. However, judging by Sera’s claim about knowing when a soul arrives and St. Repentious’s ascension, it’s clear that the system of divine judgment is “automated” in some way. Therefore, I believe Adam, through the hardships he and Eve overcame together on Earth and still managing to raise their 5 children to adulthood, *did in fact earn is place in Heaven* at the time of his death. Even without the clarity of the Fruit of Knowledge, Eve and their children’s presence in his life-and the genuine care they had for him as opposed to the angels’ aloofness-*may have pushed him to make good decisions anyway*. But BECAUSE he never ate the Fruit, he cannot deduce just WHAT truly got him into Heaven in the first place, and the Angels being as incurious as they are about both his life AND their own foundation, cannot really tell him either. A key moment in Adam’s potential character development, I think, would be finally deciding for himself to *eat the Fruit of Knowledge*. After spending time as a Sinner in Hell, learning for himself what’s right without Heaven’s indoctrination, and gradually forging real bonds with the Hotel residents, he decides he’s had enough of running. From his inner guilt, from his buried trauma and feelings of neglect from his makers, from his insecurities over Lucifer so many years ago. He hits Lucifer up. “… Do you still have it?” And Lucifer silently leads him to the chamber where he’s kept the very same apple from Eden 10,000 years ago, still in the same condition as the first day it was plucked. Lucifer hands it to the First Man, the man Heaven failed since the very beginning. And the man takes a bite.

My Stance on Adam is pretty straight forward in how he does nothing wrong and he is indeed right. 1. Adam was sad when Lilith refused but didn't bother to chase after her, and respected her wishes despite how he took "no for a answer" with the other being in heaven. Implying that Hell's history is missing key context of what actually happened. 2. Adam in the past was different than the one we see as Lucifer mentioned to Adam he let himself go since the Garden incident. Telling us that Adam was very different once again than the man we see in the current timeline. 3. Adam was only messing around with Charlie, and having fun with her when they meet at first. But what people don't understand is that he was open to aiding Charlie with anything but trying to redeem sinners so he wasn't down right ignorant of other problems he more than likely was willing to help solve. 4. Angel and Adam are the same in how people used them for their own gain yet they put on a "act" of self importance for their ego/pride is nothing more than gone. Adam hypes himself up similar to what Angel Dust does yet unlike how Husker helps Angel nobody bothers to help Adam at all with his issues other than Lute trying to protect Adam for the very things that cause him pain which are the sinners. 5. Adam breaks down in episode 8 because he understands he is nothing more than the man who started humanity but that is all he is known for nothing else. Nobody even tries to ask Adam what is it he wanted to do in the first places and the one idea he purposes to do something meaningful to "save" Heaven he is only shunned and criticized for he is "killing innocents" even though they are his offspring's children's children who decided to do horrible things regardless of the situation 6. As people mention in the comments the term "thousands of innocents" that Emily states in episode 6 is PURELY dumbfounded mainly because HELL is NOT "innocent" PERIOD. That is a outright LIE for Heaven was afraid of sinners rising up to Invade Heaven WHICH is warranted for concern given the very nature of the Overlords trying to gain power to RULE Hell itself. Those people chose to do bad things and while I do agree that those that want to better themselves should be allowed the chance to be "redeemed"...you can't use love and family as a defense mechanism like Carmela does since she RUINED other families who no doubt wanted to protect their love ones by giving weapons to those who would abuse it. Which brought her OWN daughters to HELL because they got caught in the business she ran. I have NO sympathies for those who try to claim the morale high ground for the sake of "family and love" as they never gave a rats butt about others other than their own selfish wants. 7. This is why imo Adam is the tragic hero of Hazbin Hotel as he did everything right to save those who deserved to be safe from the wicked malice hell has that even their own "hellborn" as shown in Hellvaboss inflict sin upon humanity yet charlie likes to pretend "we don't do that and even if we do they can change". Let me be clear...if you can't change the environment and rules that a person trying to go to rehab is at then it won't matter if you believe another institution will take care of them if they "check the requirements" to get in if they just relapse/don't want to change.

W take except the thousands of innocents things, God has alot of bogus stuff that would send you to hell, for example you can't go to Heaven if you don't believe I God which sounds simple enough until you realize that most people didn't know of it until like the 4th century. Then you have to account for the fact that alot of Christian settlers would show up to other regions and commit various crimes further turning them away from it.

Honestly I’m not even convinced he even treated Lilith as horribly as it’s claimed. The book Charlie’s reading is the Book of Hell or smthn like that. It clearly would be the side of the story of of either Lilith or Lucifer, one of them probably wrote it or told it. Lilith could just be painting herself in better light, or Lucifer painting his wife in better light. Like do I believe he was phenomenal to her? No, but I don’t believe she was sunshine and rainbows either. She was the starter of literal cheating, the first woman to conduct acts of adultery. She’s not innocent, but he isn’t either. If heaven had better understandings of judgement and morale he could’ve been a better husband and person in the long run.

Honestly if he does cowm back as a sinner I hope Adam's reappearance episode shows him going through the 5 stages of grief. This is how I can see it going: 1 Denial- Adam wakes up in hell and finds he is no longer an Angel, he goes into full blown panic asking things like "what is this? I'm not a sinner! This has to be a mistake!!" Maybe even trying to speak to one of the exterminators during an extermination and almost getting killed in the process. 2 anger- Adam storms the hotel to take his anger out of Charlie blaming her for his fall from grace, but this goes nowhere because everyone else kick him out 3 Bargaining- Adam finds out Sir Pentious got into Heaven and returns to the hotel, begging Charlie to give him a second chance so he can get back to Heaven Charlie would be on the fence for a bit before she would finally agree 4 Depression- Adam would metaphorically crash and basically lock himself in his room with some (Maybe all) of the bar's alcohol supplies drinking his misery away, thinking he's probably got next to no chance of getting back into Heaven 5 acceptance- someone( I hope Vaggie tbh) is able to convince Adam that he doesn't deserve a chance to get to heaven, even if he never does, he still has a place at the hotel with all of them and he's welcomed, just like anyone wanting redemption. Adam will take this to heart and finally start working on himself

If Adam is legit DEAD dead, then he's a wasted character. The first human man who had his life completely ruined by Lucifer, Lillith, and Sinners, with a purely justifiable hatred for them... reduced to a douchey fratboy with a complete joke of a death. It's very easy to forget but Adam had his entire life ruined by others, rathert han things he did on his own. Even in the bible he only ate the apple beacuse Eve shared it with him, rather than him activly choosing to eat it. It was Eve who did and he honestlyy could of thought it was a normal apple like the rest. Plus let's not forget. The backstory we got in episode 1 was from the book charlie was reading. Which was proibbly written by her parents. Did you ever notice that instead of lilith just holding her hands up and then leaving, she held her hand up, turned her head away and then ran? That's not a normalt hing to do as that's bascially a 'talk tot he hand loser' move. Lilith in relaiyy could of been just as bad as Adam pride and toxicity wise, but she hid it better or it was less obvious. She may of even encourged lucifer to start messing with Eve after she got repalced and could of had plenty of petty and malicous intentions. After all if Adam and lilith are equals, there isn't really any reason she woldn't have a persoanlity that can handle him or be like just his and Adam really wasn't as bad as he was made out to be back then. Adam has all the potential for tons of depth and undersandable motivations. I mean here is something to consider. Even fi Adam was more resonable to Charlie and open to her hotel idea? She'd of refused to compramise with him as she wanted the exterminaaitons stopped all together. Even if Adam was willing to negociate, she'd of not accepted the exerminations contiuing at all. Which means reguardless of his persoanlity, they most likley would of wound up fighting anyway.

Tbh even if he is gone for good it doesn't mean that they are done with him. They killed him because he was the main villain of S1, but that doesn't imply that they are done with his character. How did he meet lute Why did they start the extermination His deal with lilith What really happened in the Eden garden. His type of relationship with lute. I had some serious Adam brainrot after watching “Welcome to Heaven” (it’s still going on now, just less so) and ended up talking with my bestie about the perfect amount of nuance Adam got in that episode just with the reveal that even he doesn’t know why he’s in Heaven and the best he could do when asked was guess based on what he _thinks_ is probably righteous behavior. If we take his list at face value, it even tells us that he probably did manage to be a decent enough person before dying - childish as those criteria are, they are generally good things. And the smile he gives Lute while he dies in the finale, to me, speaks *_volumes:_* He was absolutely still capable of love and compassion and he genuinely felt it for Lute. In fact, for as much as the episode makes a show of tearing Adam down from this once-thought-invincible warmonger to just A Man, it was also the episode that convinced me that he was never completely evil. Flawed and obnoxious, sure. But not evil (Lute on the other hand…). Anyway the funniest part of that initial Adam convo with my bestie was her suggestion that Adam might be harboring some bitterness over being a nepo baby, because it sounds *_way_* more accurate than it should.

I agree with your assertion, but disagree on Lute. I belive she is also a daughter of her circumstances: ideological programming, zealotry, punitive divine justice, becoming a weapon for heaven... She is evil (as Adam) but not completely. She cares for her fellow sisters, she thinks she is on the right side of history by keeping heavens safe. And she ultimately loved Adam. It is also likely that she has deep insecurities, probably linked for fear of displaying weakness that forced her to repress her emotions and vulnerabilities. She can be also a nuanced character, and one perfect to further grow if Adam is still around as a sinner.

It is a bit absurd but, I imagined when Adam returns as sinner he would be like " hell is the end of the road and if I somehow fall here then I deserve damnation" so he would simply find himself a hole to spend the rest of his days, but for reason or another Lute finds him ( either by accident or Adam having save Lute from a horde of sinners with angelic weapons) Lute will see him as a sinner Adam will explain that he fell from the grace and advise Lute to just go back to heaven and enyoj it but Lute being as stuborn as she is will refuse to leave, reasoning that Adam cannot keep his identity secret forever ( his demonic from is very simliar to heavenly one with his wing being a huge give away) and once he is exposed the sinner will attack him including overlords and Adam is not as strong as his heavenly version, this conservation will quickly turn into a heated argument and at some point Lute will answer Adams warnings to return with " make me" and so a sort of fight will break out between these two with both of them flying around hell shouting and grabing / throwing each other, adam Despite being much stronger than her Adam does not want to hurt lute so the fight goes to a stalemate but the important thing is Charlie and the rest of the hell learns that Adam has not kicked the bucket and is a sinner now. Charlie will want to talk to him and even invite him to hotel but the moment she appears Adam will literally throw Lute at Charlie before once again asking Lute to leave for heaven and assume him dead before flying away. This will quickly turn into a Musical with 3 of them Adam singing about how he blew his afterlife and how he deserves it and there is no way to redeem or save him, Lute will sing about how she failed to protect him and how she will protect him no matter what both sera and Lucifer be damned, meanwhile Charlie will sing about how she wants to help him and he can be safe in hotel how he can redeem himslef. In the end Adam will only accept once Lute (hearing Charlie's part of hotel being under Lucifer's protection and her invitation to him) says she will leave if Adam checks into the hotel. I saw Adam as someone who was just following the orders of the higher up angels, and while he enjoyed it, he didn’t see it as wrong because the others never rebuked him or told him it was wrong. With him showing restraint by not destroying Charlie the first chance he got even though she was the child of the two people that destroyed his paradise and ruing both his and his children’s lives by introducing sin. Obviously he isn’t a good guy but I wouldn’t say he’s evil either. So it’s not as black and white as everyone even Adam himself says.

Double standards man... And considering the fact that *no one* in Heaven knows what it takes to even get up there, I'd like to think there may be some souls in Hell who weren't actually supposed to be there. They could have been pretty decent people.. though that decent part of them has probably withered away due to Hell's violent environment... Take Carmilla's children for example, what could they have done? The most we've seen them do is sell goods to Sir Pentious and even hug their mum. The theory that Carmilla somehow accidentally got her daughters sent to Hell with her could support my theory that some sinners weren't actually supposed to be sent to Hell.

Something I wanna hone in on in terms of Adam being potentially complex and pitiable is Sera's mention that Adam is the first human to make it to heaven. That seems reasonable, at first-- he was the first man, he must have been the first death... until you remember the story of Cain and Abel. Now, obviously Bible lore isn't being followed to the letter here, but if the story of Cain and Abel is canon to this universe, the implication that Abel didn't make it into Heaven is really fascinating, and potentially sort of devastating for Adam. This goes into fanfic-ish territory and may be completely off from where the character is going, but stick with me for a moment. Imagine your son being murdered, being not only the first murder victim in all of history, but the first /death/ in all of history. You die many, many years later-- maybe you're the second death-- and you're welcomed into a paradise. Your first instinct would probably be, upon realizing that there's an afterlife, to ask after your murdered son. And they tell you he's not there. There's more than one afterlife, one for the righteous, one for the damned, and he went to the second one. They can't even tell you why, really-- you're the first person to make it up here, after all. All you're told is that they know the judgement of souls is divine and absolute, based on how you lived, and you're alone with these angels who have no answers. Maybe you ask if there's anything your son can do to join you, and you're told that to their knowledge, no, there isn't. If you don't make it to Heaven on your first try, then you are inherently unworthy of ever being there. The rules are black and white, there's no use in trying to fight it. Cain lives an unnaturally long life, but he does die, eventually, and of course he doesn't make it to Heaven. Adam probably isn't surprised by that one, and who knows how he feels about his boy after he murdered Abel, but that doesn't mean he might not have some upsetting or messy emotions about another one of his kids being in Hell. And of course, we have no idea where Eve is, but it's safe to say she's not in Heaven either. There's no mention of any other children of Adam and Eve being in Heaven, but let's just say they don't make it either. Adam is the only person in his family to make it to Heaven, and he can guess why Cain and Eve aren't here, but it still hurts, and when it comes to Abel, he can't come up with any good reason he's in Hell. That's just how things work; he did something his son didn't, he /earned/ it while his son didn't. The "how" and "why" of that doesn't matter, which has been made exceedingly clear to him. It doesn't excuse his actions or his general shitty personality-- this guy still absolutely sucks-- but a lot about Adam suddenly gets a whole lot sadder with this idea. His views on Heaven and Hell are a coping mechanism, of sorts, ESPECIALLY if we go with your idea that he didn't eat from the apple. The /only/ thing that he has to go off of is that he made it because he's the only one in his family who wasn't tainted by Eve's sin. Her sin must have been great enough to taint their sons, even the one who was victimized by sin, and it just fuels this black-and-white thinking and disdain for sinners. If he lets himself think that those in Hell might not belong there, or that they could be redeemed, then he has to grapple with the fact that that's true of his family and that what happened to them, especially Abel, was horrifically unfair. He doesn't want to-- or can't-- grapple with that, so he puts off thinking about the actual actions of the people who make it to Heaven. It's got to be something innate and unchangeable, it /has/ to be, and it makes his fumbling surface-level answers and nervous request for reassurance-- that "... Right, Sera?" that you mentioned-- so much sadder if he's had this level of denial this whole time. And it especially adds some weight to the line "Well, why isn't he here then?" when talking about how Angel is doing everything right. Anyway, leaping off of this, if Adam makes it to Hell-- which he should, otherwise that is a massive missed opportunity-- I want him to meet one or both of his boys. Him finding Cain, Abel or both in Hell could be fascinating and could kickstart a redemption arc, further denial, a breakdown of sorts-- the possibilities are endless but almost all of them would add some depth to this guy, and would be fun to watch.

Point a friend of mine and some others have brought up: if Adam is the first man to go to heaven, does Abel not exist in this universe?? Getting back on track, I think the something to consider: although his view is mostly brought on by pessimism, Lucifer brought up the point that after people gained free will, there were many that committed wrongs despite having knowledge of moral standards. Who's to say that if Adam had eaten the fruit, it wouldn't go like when Remy tried explaining to Emile the way he experiences flavor in "Ratatouile", but with more rudeness? Also, while I do love the idea of Adam descending, my big question is how will Lute react to possibly her only friend being a sinner, especially given her rigid views like " Angels don't make mistakes "? If Adam didn’t eat the apple of knowledge and evil, he doesn’t know what’s good or bad, so he isn’t aware of doing bad things, so he has a clean conscience regardless of what he does, that is then reinforced by him being in heaven. Similar to an animal or a young kid breaking something, it’s bad, but we don’t blame them because they don’t know any better.
@dante_09629 ай бұрын
With the intro footage of trying to show Adam as “controlling”, but it doesn’t seem like that to me. But more of a child wanting to play with his friend, or he saw something cool. So maybe he thought he was pushing Lilith’s boundaries, so he was more distant with Eve, but that cause her feeling lonely and when Lucifer and Lilith came along they gave her a good reason to leave by eating the forbidden fruit. And since he hasn’t eaten the forbidden fruit, Adam’s mentality couldn’t figure out why they left. Which cause him to be very sexist towards women because he doesn’t have the self awareness to blame himself. Especially created by heaven to be perfect and father all humanity and the woman who were made to be with him left and cause evil and sin. He views them as the bad guys while still thinking he’s perfect since he didn’t abandon his loved ones and eat the fruit.

They show the sinners deserve to be down there. They also show overlords collecting souls makes them more powerful. Thus the purge is completely justified and makes total sense. Even if a soul can be redeemed, that doesn’t mean the overlords won’t get to them first or stop the whole redemption process once it’s a revealed threat to their power. In short, Adam’s personality failures are totally redeemed in his leading the purges and saving all of heaven and maybe even earth from hell taking over. His true failure was the gross incompetence of leaving hoards of angelic weapons scattering hell every year for the overlords to gather. Like come on dude.

As far as whether he "deserves" to die, that really depends on things we don't and probably won't ever know; namely whether he actually had the capacity for empathy and still chose to go on massive killing sprees or never had a chance of knowing what he was doing was wrong.

What also is interesting to mention Adam was just spawned as an Adult together with Lilith. He skipped childhood aka the tutorial. Since eden he was playing the Game of Life on Nightmare difficulty. He was spawned a wife( no need to actually discover who he is or how to get to know/and to get along with another person commonly known as the dating phase) and told to populate the earth.... bro didnt even get told basic morality, he skipped all that. Thats why he probably was a less than stellar farther (his kids literally killed another over envy), an even worse husband. How would he? He didnt have any moral guidance as a child or even ate the fruit that lets him magically know good from bad. How is he supposed to know, he was just doing as he was told... and given the ancient times probably kicked the bucket by his 40s at best maybe even earlyer while he got spawned in his 20s... he has the life experience of a 10-20 year old ofc he wouldnt know alot about how the human experience... and given he was then just admitted to heaven by default cuz hes the first guy he did his job. Then one day asked why people go to hell and got told cuz they are bad people so this festered into him going around killing those sinners.... sure a lot of them are awful and unapologetic so they definetly deserve to be there. this also shines a whole new light on "You didnt know" its not just about knowing adam was leading angels into battle to kill a bunch of unapologetic examples of the worst things humanity has created. Its also about Heaven not even knowing the first thing about what it actually means to be good or how these systems work. They know when people get there and just assume ok they are good people. When sinners have a better understanding of what gets them where they are vs what the denizens of the pearly gates get told. Sure you can just not commit any sins or get pardoned by a pope or sth but then they gotta explain Sir pentious. Its very clear on Seras face when he gets spawned right in front of her (likely by the guy in the sky himself as a sort of joke) and his very existance questions their understanding of how these systems actually work especally since god seems to be a higher power than even heaven who are just managing his place. But in favor of heaven you can even argue how they are supposed to know either. Its likely they werent told anything either so they are also going off blind guesses of how things work as well Tldr nobody knows a thing and is tapping in the dark with 0 instructions while tasked with the most important things in creation namely managing the afterlife(s)

Adam acts like someone who's born with a silver spoon and has YEARS of resentment built up from being constantly betrayed to essentially being forced to be a breeder for angels and nothing more. Season 2 is a more Vee season but I think Adam's coming back at the mid-way point or end because he'd want to go home. Probably for Lute since they both cared for each other. It really doesn't make sense to take one of OG Eden for and snuff him out prematurely for a gag. Especially when more than likely it's Eve who's the Root of all Evil.

I also think it would be better for Adam to not eat the apple of knowledge when Eve told him to not cuz “she’s just an ignorant chic” but “because father(god)/the angles told us not to” which would bring us right to the “don’t steal” on Adam’s list.

Note: Yes, it was adams IDEA, but Adam also says people should be worshiping his nuts so...if he's not listened to then, why anyone listen to his extermination idea?
