You are closer to the truth than you think. Sites just use bots now to aggregate data from all sorts of sources and then try to make an article about tier lists and guides, for a game they have never played. Sites like The Gamer, MrGuider, PocketTactics etc. are notorious for that sort of shit. As a thief main, this made me laugh. I adore thief, as I said it's my main, but I am under no illusion whatsoever that my favorite class is a high DPS class. It CAN produce a lot of DPS, if you're a pianist and have precision timing, but it's a lot of work and one wrong move ruins the entire rotation. I will say this about DPS classes: Yesterday I brought my Soulbeast main out of hibernation after playing mostly my Mechanist for the last few months, and that switch made me realize just how obnoxiously OP Mechanist still is. The auto-explosions of rifle, the Mech able to instantly nuke trash mobs, Shift and Barrier signets, like 700 breakbar damage available...the whole package together is just plain ridiculous. My Soulbeast felt crippled by comparison.

Were you playing axe/axe soulbeast? Cause even a no weapon-swap low intensity a/a power soulbeast can outperform a power mech doing a full rotation atm in terms of raw damage output. It's true that the boon-rip from mine, extra cc, free stun-break and teleport all outclass most dps classes in terms of access to utility, but in terms of total damage and burst damage it's very noticeably sub-par to almost everything atm.

Power weaver with fresh air and sword/daggerallows you to easily gain access to dagger 5 for cc without much interruption. Using the elite skill to summon the lightning elemental can also allow you to bring in more cc without much of a personal sacrifice. Going scepter/focus condi tempest or cata will allow you to keep air attunement open for the massive knockdown on focus 5 in air and even the daze in water focus 5. A fire-only scepter/focus tempest can get to 31k dps and 32k dps on catalyst. This lower intensity build allows you to still do very consistent damage will leaving water, air, and earth open for you to be more reactive to the fight.

I feel strongly about things like this, as I'm sure a lot of people do. I think if articles that are clearly written by A.I. are used, we should take it upon ourselves to write in or Twitter blast or whatever the latest method of drawing attention to things is. Gonna have to play devil's advocate on behalf of this....person?....algorithm?.....collection of ones and zeroes? Whatever it is. When they say healing skills they are likely not specifically referring to the game's jargon of "specifically the skill in the 6th slot", but rather just a skill that has a healing component. Only one slot may be allocated for a "healing skill" but others can have skills that have healing. Also, every class technically has multiple 6th slot healing skills. You can just only choose one to use at a time. Initially I also thought they meant tool kit in a general sense to refer to the engineers arsenal of skills, but after seeing the random namedrop of skills in the later classes, you might have actually been correct with your interpretation of that one. Either way this was hilarious to watch you read out. And no matter how you interpret any of this, anyone who plays guild wars 2 would realize this is some of the most hilariously inaccurate, clickbaity, and just plain wrong articles....possibly ever?
