Did Allison Janney's ancestor survive a shipwreck in Bermuda?!

I'm a descendant of one of those on the Sea Venture shipwrecked in Bermuda - Thomas Powell (who was a cook) and Elizabeth Persons (she was maid to Mistress Horton) and they got married in Bermuda. They were my 11th great grandparents. Meanwhile, many MANY years later, I lived in Bermuda and my brother was born there.

Constance Hopkins is my 11th great grandmother . I'm glad I was watching this video because it made me go to my family tree and add a few new people . I already had Anna Snow in there , I added Eldad Atwood and their son John and about six other siblings

I’m a DAR and a daughter of the mayflower. My father spent an enormous amount of time tracking our family history, it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve never registered myself for either of these historical “accomplishments” as I guess I just have no idea of how it would add value to my existence, but I’ve always wondered about others experiences if they’ve registered for the same titles.

I just remembered my grandmother actually did. I discovered both sides of her family were puritans and one was Elder William Brewster! 😲 My 12x great grandfather.

Same for a line in my family tree. 12 times great grandfather came over in the early 1600's and settled in Maryland. Huge monument in his surname is there. First settlers.

Stephen Hopkins is also my 10x Great Grandfather. I noticed that the Ancestry sight page they show does not have a maiden name for Stephen Hopkin's wife Mary (which they point out in the video). It is Kent. This information is provided in my families published ancestry book. I will have to let my cousin Allison know this. 😄

For a family with a drinker, this is a whole new kinda "Wrecked"! Sugar Cane for Molasses, Molasses for RUM. Jamestown was nothing more than a freshwater port, for the trip back to England. The Mayflower with unpitched sides, couldn't make it to Jamestown, let alone Bermuda. "But Honey we packed for Bermuda?" "I don't know what to tell you, wife? Welcome to Massachusetts!"
