I agree that the most damning evidence against Andrea is the fact that she called her friend to tell her he had been shot before she had gone to the hospital and then later stated she didn't know what happened to him until after she got to the hospital. Also, a $2 million life insurance policy?? Damn. I believe that she used her boss's feelings for her to manipulate him into believing that if he killed her husband, they would fool the police into thinking it was a stranger and could run away together with his life insurance money. But I don't think she had any genuine feelings for her boss at all. Her true plan was to fake her love for him so he would commit the murder, then she would turn him over to the police, making herself look like a damsel in distress, and get away with the $2 million all to herself. I think she thought her husband's career goals were leading nowhere and she felt he was worth more to her dead than alive, and her boss was just a pawn in her scheme. Fucked up, but that's what I think happened. I feel so terrible for their son. I hope he is able to get the help he needs to recover from the trauma of losing his dad in such a horrific way and is able to thrive in life.

That school is in a shopping center. There was a group of us that would meet for beer after court there. It was the same shopping center as my surgeon at the time that I was down in that area for. Sounds like she liked the idea of Hemi's attention and was leading him on, I also come to the conclusion that if she was involved in any way to kill her husband, why wouldn't Hemi have testified to her involvement as some sort of deal with the prosecutor for a lighter sentence. But this didn't happen. She also is the one who told the police in the first place who might have reason to kill her husband. I think she played Hemi like a violin, but wasn't part of his murder.

She did 22 months on a 5 year sentence. I did 23 months on a 15 year sentence. I always felt like I was lucky but never really had thought about just how lucky. Interesting.. To be transparent, I immediately enrolled in the prison drug rehab program for 8 weeks, then got my GED, then went to work at work release and the entire time I never once got in trouble. I had a parole hearing that was originally over a year away but petitioned them for an early parole hearing and they granted it to me. I submitted referral letters from my employer and family stating that they believed I had changed and deserved to have a second chance. It worked. They told my mom if I messed up, they weren’t letting me out next time . This was 10 years ago. I EOS my sentence in 2016. Still a good girl in 2022.

I agree. The sentence was fair for what she was found guilty of. Do I believe she was having an affair with her boss? 100% Do I believe she was in on, or at the very least knew about the fact her boss was going to murder her husband? Absolutely. But could the prosecutor have proved this without reasonable doubt, based on what we the public know that they knew? Unfortunately not, and then there would have been double jeopardy at play, when she was found not guilty, if they found evidence later on.

I agree with all you said except I’m not 100% that she knew he was going to kill her husband. Since he WAS her boss, I’m sure she had a lot of fears…fears he would tell her husband about the affair, fear of getting fired, fear the police wouldn’t believe her since she HAD had an affair. She might’ve even had the fear of him killing him but didn’t know how to stop the train that was roaring towards her. I know her calls to her friend make her look very suspicious. But she could’ve been totally not thinking straight with the boss becoming more noticeably unhinged. I think the sentence was fair for what she was found guilty of. Also, I’m sure they can actually charge her later for murder if more evidence comes in…otherwise it would’ve been double jeopardy and they would’ve lost the chance.

If she knew or had suspicions that Hemy was planning to kill her husband (which I think she did), she wouldn’t have gone to the cops because she wanted to cover up the affair. She valued her reputation over her husband’s life. But I don’t think she had enough motive to actively plan his murder.

I'm curious to know what the timeline of the phone records showed. Her friend didn't sound 100% confident that Andrea called in her way to the hospital. The phone records would show off that was accurate. Of course this is speculation, but it speaks volumes that her best friend is willing to get on the stand and speak for the prosecution.

I don’t think I believe that she planned the murder… I think there would have been more evidence of them planning it, especially when evidence was left behind of the affair. I think she crossed the line and had an affair with her boss and didn’t want to admit it, either because the affair looks really bad when your husband has just been murdered or because if it’s known that the person she was having an affair with killed her husband, everyone would think she’s involved too. She probably found out about her husband getting shot when she talked to her boss on the phone on the way to the hospital and she didn’t say anything because the affair would have been revealed. I think she mentioned her boss being interested in her to police, hoping they would investigate him more until she finally had to just say she knew he did it. Feel like the boss would have thrown her under the bus by now too if she was involved

@@molleirose Just because you get vibes doesn't mean she is guilty. Many people give off vibes because their personalities are not 100% normal. I come from a family of weird people where we have genetic abnormalities that lead to some of us not understanding empathy and other peoples responses very well. This has led to a pretty bad time for me particularly because I am always acting a part because I want people to like me but by nature I am very bad socially so I spend a lot of time thinking what the right responses are to things that happen around me. If I was suspected of murder I would probably be locked up because my responses would be inappropriate.

I'm not convinced she was guilty either and I am very hesitant to interpret a womans demeanour / personality / facial expressions etc. as a sign of their guilt (this is a common trap that people fall into, and it often comes from a place of deep seeded misogyny). She definitely was hiding some sort of relationship but the fact that they had some sort of affair also does not mean she instructed him to do it and there isn't any evidence of it.

@@larbot3433 Larbot, I also am not convinced, but I do think she was having an affair and probably complaining about her husband, and wishing he was dead, and Hemy might have felt sorry and just did it for her. She was probably disappointed in Rusty, upset that he kept losing jobs and wasn't living up to his potential, and she had to be the bread winner. On the other hand, she might have been in on it (garage code, e-mails, etc.) but there was no actual proof of her actions. She was a proficient liar, and did think she could outsmart everyone.

I feel as though her boss showered her in affection and she found herself getting caught up in the " feel good " web. THEN, she realised it was going too far, had regrets and stepped back from the affair. Hemi didnt like that, so in desparation, he killed her husband. He is still in prison and refuses to give her up. He tells me to this day he will never do that because they will be together again one day. Tbh I feel like she had no clue he was going to kill her husband but what I think happened was she liked the attention her boss was giving her. I believe she flirted back because she enjoyed the attention her boss was giving her. So she went on dinner dates while gone out of town on business trips.. I really feel like she thought it wasn't any harm in having dinner with him since they was gone on business and the only two to know each other but then she noticed the flirting and feelings he had for her. She probably started exchanging the same energy but then she started feeling guilty about the whole situation. She then started acting funny with him and he didn't take that well so thats when he start to stalk the husband. He then went on to plot to kill him. You know get him out the way then maybe just maybe she'll give me a chance. To top it off, you know the husband called her while she was gone to work to let her know about the situation with the man laying face down in the grass... So When the school teacher called to tell her something bad had happened. She instantly knew it involved her husband. She know exactly when her husband takes her son to school so she panicked.. She probably didn't know exactly what happened but she had a clue as to what occurred because she wasn't being 100 percent faithful. This is only my opinion. So while on trial she was withholding alot of information because she didn't want anyone knowing about the situationship she had with her husband's killer. Knowing that would make her look guilty so she tried to cover it up. Doing that got her charged and served time.

Her best friend, when asked if she was sure Andrea was on her way to the hospital when she called he, wasn't responding in a convincing way - she looked as if she was second-guessing her memories from that day. Her voice was significantly less adamant than when she was describing the phone call just seconds before she said she was sure Andrea has not yet been to the hospital. It struck me as really odd.

I agree. I’m a lawyer and I think her friend was confused about what she was told and during what call. That’s literally the main reason people think Andrea is guilty but it seemed to me, with 14 years experience of cross examining witnesses, that she has combined two memories. One where she got a call saying something happened and another where she was told he was shot. Giving evidence is very difficult. I don’t think Andrea was involved. I think she was trying to hide the emotional / start of a physical affair because she was ashamed. I think the killer was a creep who likely wore her down. Even thanking him for the flowers she was like I don’t know what else to say. There would be far more evidence of a full blown affair if it was happening. I think she probably started getting scared for her own safety because of killers behaviours and then started thinking if he was capable The fact that she waited until she was in Florida then called her best friend- to me shows that she was scared and wanted comfort & reassurance from her friend before going to police.

I think she was afraid of him what would justify her behavior and delayed communication with the police. I also think there was a period of denial and guilt in her - she couldn't believe he was capable of this and she blamed herself for not being able to reject him in a way that would not cause such an outcome. I feel sorry for her when people judge her just because she's the type of personality that doesn't please the audience's perception of a "nice sincere gal" type. She is a technical mind - people with this type of brain often come across as cold and distant and calculated because of how stripped of emotions their communication might seem but that doesn't make them guilty of any crime.

He gave her flowers and she thanked him for them, said she had an appreciation for opened flowers, said it was extremely thoughtful… and her response in court was “I don’t remember saying this or receiving flowers, it was almost 2 years ago..” Ma’am… I received flowers from an admirer on June 15th, 2014 at 4:36PM right before I was leaving work…. This was 8 years ago and I don’t even have an appreciation for open flowers lmao…. C’mon… you know you remember getting those.

I've had many of my boyfriends get me flowers and surprise me with them. I couldn't give you a date let alone a time of when it happened. Or even how often it happened. Or what my response to getting them was.

I can’t even move past thinking of those kids. Their father was murdered. THEY don’t deserve to lose their mother too. And I know it’s more complicated than that, but I can’t move past that thought.

My heart goes out to Rusty’s family and loved ones. I firmly believe that based on the evidence, Andrea should have been given a much harsher sentence and at least one that was the same length as her boss received for pulled the trigger. She clearly had a plan in place and knew about this scheme from day one. So it breaks my heart that Rusty’s family and loved ones didn’t receive justice for Rusty’s murder.
