Yeah a lot of these reviewers seem to be missing the point just as much as Blizzard. No one was asking for Tanks to be better. They just wanted them to be enjoyable to play again. The problem is when you are the only tank you are the main target most of the time, if your team is not on point your game is guaranteed to be unenjoyable. The fix to the problem of tanks not being fun is simple. Add a second tank.

People keep saying that, but most tank mains that I know of, including myself, never wanted buffs for each and every tank. We wanted the forced endless counterswapping to be gotten rid of. And honestly, counter swapping only exists due to, at the absolute MOST, half of the tank roster plus a few of the supports. Has always been that way. What Blizzard calls balancing most rational people would call endless neurotic tinkering. It's like watching Ruxin trying to set his lineup in The League. Seriously how many years do you need to decide on a characters kit? So many Overwatch day 1 heroes are still be tinkered with to this day. It seems like the devs can't find that middle sweet spot for the tank role with this 5v5 format its either they are really strong at the cost of the other roles or they become very weak at the cost of the tank role itself. If you can't find a solution since the game came out they have to admit the mistake of changing the format of 6v6 to 5v5 its clearly not working as they intended to work.

Hot take: people complained about tanks in 6v6 days as well, and going back to that wouldn't fix the perceived problem. They switched to 5v5 partly because people hated playing tank and it messed with queue times. Bottom line is people are still playing because deep down they know it's not a big deal and the game is a blast. If it was really as bad as players act, it would be dead and the complainers wouldn't be commenting on videos like this because they wouldn't be playing the game. If you want a game where everyone is just as easy to kill as everyone else, an asymmetrical hero shooter isn't for you because that's the point of a tank.

They did do it in multiple patches. What are you talking about? This patch is the worst by far but just 2 patches ago, they were buffing tanks. The problem is that nobody wants raid bosses as tanks. And the more they do these patches where the power creep turns into a power sprint, the more 6v6 seems like it needs to be brought back.

I know queue times were awful in ow1 but it feels like they can’t balance the tanks with only one tank. Either they’re too tanky and the other roles hate it or they’re too brittle and the tank players hate it. The sentiment at 2:37 is flawed. You can't even get to the backline with the dive champs because they are so heavily nerfed. Not to mention supports got buffed to the moon previous to the tank TRT session so there's no point to the dps role unless you are cracked at which point you might as well play ana or illari since they are just dps with heal passives at this point.

I dropped 5 divisions since the patch, the tank diff is insane since that patch. It feels like I can't win 1 single game since the update. I play mainly junk rat and it doasnt matter how good I play, when the tank in our team is bad, the game is lost. I think they killed ranked with that patch. But I know, I'm the problem, I just have to be better to climb, everything is fine and ov is completely balanced. If they remove that patch they have to do another rank reset I guess.

The tank buffs where necessary as it was the most depressing role in the game. So i think ee should buff dps heroes so that the entire game is not heavilly reliant on the tank. That doesnt mean make dps destroy tanks but make a change that allows your team to attack backline and all the other opponents. So i recommend some sort of buff to the flanking heroes tracer sombra and others like that ofc that makes another meta but its better than a tank only game.

If you look at these videos.. you notice something... SO MANY MERCYS. Mercy is doing well because the tank can do it all its pretty weird i havent tried comp yet i will soon but so far mercy is doing quite well in quick play it seems like an indirect mercy buff and notice how in the end clip how there was a valk mercy keeping him alive through all of that prior to the patch there were not many mercys in quickplay or maybe thats just me.... so as a mercy mian im lowkey happy hehe

Work for their kills? You barely can kill things now, dps were working for their kills every match unless you picked a server admin hero like widow, pharah, sojourn. Everything else was practically fine. Tanks, supports, and dps got punished for playing poorly, sustain was not as strong due to the passive which allowed stuff to die for once. Now none of this matters cause the new tank buffs make it that much more difficult to kill players due to the sustain they bring to themselves and teammates along with abilities like matrix.

Now constant counter swapping will still be the best way to play tank. Rein was unplayable and rein will still be unplayable.
