Hey Elliott, thank you so much for answering my question! Additional information: I never skied powder nor trees, only groomed slopes so far on 73mm carving skis. And I live in Central Europe, skiing in Austrian Alps. Now I want to give off-piste skiing a very proper try. Recently I saw a great deal for the Scott Scrapper 105 W. I’m a lightweight guy at 72kg for 180cm of height and I’m unsure if I should go for 167 or 172 for them to give me extra easy turns for tree skiing as a beginner in tree skiing. By the way, I’m thankful for your recommendation when it comes to the SPX 12 binding. Great price and great performance!

Hey Elliot, just wanted to say you're probably the most critical reviewer regarding the ski industry, and I say that in the best possible way. Though I think that combined with the fact that you are a smaller creator makes it harder for most ski manufacturers to lend you skis to review simply because of the fear that a small negative remark on the design of even a seemingly perfect ski will impact sales. Just know I appreciate you staying brutally honest about all the B.S. in the industry even if that may mean you're paying out of pocket to review these skis for now. You're definitely on the map now though. Maybe look into getting sponsorships from non-ski brands to fund demos (There's definitely a lot of skis out there I'd love to see you review). On another topic, what length did you ski the Rustlers 10s in? Would you size up / down from the ones you demoed?

Thanks for featuring my comment! I will enjoy sharing this with my fellow instructors at ski school this season! My intent on the private ski lesson costs was simply to inform rather than be critical... apologies for the wording.... I totally realize that using multiple sets of boots is not a great or the most practical of solutions.... My point is that she might have several factors going on (unique foot anatomy, ski technique, etc...) that prevents a one ski boot manufacturer solution. Hope you have a terrific 2024-2025 ski season! -Lee

You are on the lookout for a deal on the Bent 110s, and I am on the lookout for a deal on the Bent Chetler 120s. I wish us both luck. Ski Essentials will mail you a brand new pair of the 2024 110s with bindings mounted for $700. You can get a used 2024 demo pair (188 cm) in decent condition from Powder7 for $570. If you call them, they might waive the $30 shipping fee. Demo bindings might be a good choice on the 110 since the mounting point can be tricky and with the demo binding you can play around with it. Let me know if you ever see pair of demo 120s (192 cm length) for $500 or less.

How is the anomaly line not carried at your ski shops? Will probably be the second best selling all mountain ski after the mantra this year

Could be this coming winter? The only Blizzard skis I could get my hands on last season was the Rustler 10

You could have two different ski boots for skinning and frontside resort skiing. Maybe another for park? I’m fine with one pair for now though 😊

Why do you recommend the Bent 110 instead of 120 for deep powder?
@chadridsdale9970Ай бұрын
It depends how deep your snowfall is and how steep your hill is. I had the 2021 bent 120 for a few seasons. The wider the ski the more "powder only" focused it becomes. They get worse on the groomers. My local hill Powder King is fairly flat but we get big dumps. 20-50cm is common. If your hill is steep, a narrower ski will be fine. The 120 is light and very agile, but on a groomer it's very wide ski. I have other skis in the quiver and only wanted to bring out the big ski in more than 25 cm snow. Having big skis does not mean you're going to get big snow.

Sad but true, a six hr lesson - private lesson - runs about 1k at all the big west ski areas I’ve frequented. That’s a redonkulous amt of money. There’s no way I’d ever do that. Can’t imagine anyone could learn that much that way, but that’s just me.

Where did homeboy get his Atomic Mav Ti 88s w/bindings for $450 cause that's exactly what I'm looking for! I'm here for your brutally honest yet fun reviews among other entertainment. Being brutally honest I doubt I'll ever call myself better than an advanced skier, for I've never competed, I've seen and skied w/experts, and I ain't 1! It's fun to experience the expert neighborhood though no doubt. Send It!

I did an online purchase from Alpine Shop Vermont (actual store is near Stowe Ski Area). Unfortunately, the Atomic Mav 88ti's were their last pair left over from 2024. However; they still have the Atomic Strive 14 bindings on sale for $169 (as long as you do not want black). -Lee

Maybe start by pronouncing the name of the company correctly? And F the companies anyway if they won’t send you skis. Go to demo days and ski everything you can get your hands on. I mean it will make you a better reviewer if you ski all the skis right? (I do think you could tone down the negativity a little fwiw.)
