Vanish very much counters mana cheating. It takes cards you got for free and puts them in your hand, and often destroys half of them. You are right that the main reason Thijs won is because the second vanish burned, though.

He at one point even said that Zalae needed to deal 40 or something of damage to even penetrate his defenses, that is broken as fuck, and this is a duel between good players, I always lose when Master Oakheart comes in play, its almost an instant win with that card (or at least it makes you not want to continue playing the match)
