I love Britta in every season, but i feel like Season 2 was her peak. She was the perfect amount of try-hard activist and air headed buffoon. Season 3 onwards kinda made her too much of a punching bag for the rest of the group but i still love her. Gillian Jacobs always nailed line deliveries and physical humour.

If you need the narrative reason, it’s so that Britta can feel embarrassed by the contents of her bag, so that she can go on to demand vindication by having the others’ bags searched. Which establishes the bottle episode. Your take makes even less sense since Jeff isn’t trying to leave here. And the only reason everyone wants to leave is because it adds stakes to the bottle episode
