We have more freedom today than we ever had. But we are also told what to think and how to act more than any time in history. We can do and believe whatever we want, but are still told how to see things in mass. All reverence to the single experience is lost. We can't possibly connect with God because we are told that isn't us. Pretty frustrating

Matt you're kind of funny how you phrase some of the teachings versus how you traditionally read about them. You got good skill at communicating and this is something that I need to work at when speaking with Christians luckily I have a good friend who is Christian and we talked about these very things all the time it's good to see some of the crossover and explain our terminology to each other.

I was always intrigued to see how Buddha carved his own path and discovered the truth. His teaching - "You are your own light." clearly says that you are responsible for your own Nirvana, and by following his words, everyone can become like Buddha. Something, I found even Ramana Maharshi did the same and realized truth through his own discovery. His path of self-inquiry emphasized more on questioning to whom these thoughts arise and find the source of your ego. it's there for everyone to claim. My comment not related to this video. Can you do an indepth presentation of Pure Land Buddhism. The Buddha talked about Amitabha Blissful Pure Land according to some sutras..and explained the practice for ordinary people, like me, who are not advanced meditators. I am almost 80 years old and this is my practice. ❤😊

We not leak wisdom or teaching but the one who dare to walk the work or fixing the problem and something like that. Imagine we want to travel around the world first we need to decide the destination or at least temporary place to stay before to the next check point. What is prophet what is philosopher? Buddha was neither prophet nor philosopher so why go on about it? This was not his point at all. He rejected philosophers of his day saying that they misled the people. Although he did make a few prophecies it was just a by product of his practice of samadhis and samapattis and his physic ability he may have felt were helpful. But the Buddha spoke for himself teaching the Buddha Dharma, which he did tirelessly. So your question is out of place and not relevant. Why then are you speaking as a knowledgeable authority on Buddha Dharma?
