Sidney Crosby, Auston Matthews, Victor Hedman and Aleksander Barkov have been named team captains for Canada, the United States, Sweden and Finland respectively at the 4 Nations Face-Off. I just think they didn’t give go to him because of how the Canucks are performing and how the rift between Petey and Miller came out. If nothing comes out and they are performing well I think he’s captain.

The wolrd cup of hockey was awesome, im hoping this will be similar. A lot of these guys have ego and pride which motivates them to always compete at their best. National pride is becoming less common though, so the one problem i see is individual motivation rather than team motovation

The captain isn’t always the best player on the team. Crosby is still a dominant player. He is still the best player on the Penguins by far and will average a point per game this season, which will be his 20th season in a row doing so to set a record.

He’s by far the most respected guy in that room though mcdavid gets an A and will lead by example but in the room when the nerves are coming on in the big moments the team will look to Crosby for leadership and inspiration
