Insiders have also said that players will be trying their hardest. Genuinely don’t see how you can’t be excited for a powerplay consisting of McDavid, MacKinnon, Makar, Crosby, and whoever else (probably Reinhart at bumper)

Well shit. That is just about the worst injury that could have happened to team Finland. Welcome aboard one of Jokiharju, Vaakanainen, Heinola or Matinpalo. Literally the only defensemen we have left in the NHL after the ones already in the roster. I expect it will be Jokiharju that gets selected, as he has won gold at the World Championships in all 3 age groups.

We might need another one too since there's no guarantees on Hakanpää playing either. Jokiharju and Vaakanainen will probably be the ones to be called up although I wouldn't mind Heinola over Vaakanainen. That was our only D-man who could handle big minutes, any situation and actually move the puck and make the plays on PP so yeah we're screwed. But age old tradition of nihilistic meidän peli will save us all. And goalies playing out of their minds of course.

I can see Seattle potentially picking up Boquist. Goaltending aside, defense has been an issue for the team (our current Dmen seem more focused on the blue line than the goal crease when defending, it was just WAY more obvious with Gru unfortunately) and I can see some shuffling there, especially bringing in young blood willing to listen to coaches and adapt their way of playing. If he doesn't work out at the NHL level, it's a small cap hit and he'd also be welcome in Coachella.

I'd rather Crosby on that top line, move Mac to the RW. Marner doesn't have the heart to be a useful top liner on a winning team, he's more a 2nd liner for me. I think adding Crosby to the top line makes Canada literally unstoppable.

US has the better Dcore I think, by a small margin. Better goalies too. US can beat Canada if Helly, Otteing, Sway get hot. The Swedes also have a solid roster. The Fins lets be honest, don't have much hope of getting beyond 1 win.

I wasn't baffled by what Stone was doing because I watched the game. He gets tripped by Hintz and falls into another player. It's like your player crosschecking an opposing player into your goalie and getting mad that the goalie is hurt.
