Somehow I think Firuzja would have seen hanging white queen in OTB game. 6 seconds on clock, plenty of time to notice it . But in online chess it is different, players are trying to premove to save time and that is when horrible blunders happen. Finally Carlsen noticed that there is better square for his queen than a6 and checked black king which gave him final lethal attack

the fact is, GMs don't expect other GMs to hang Queens easily. They both trusted each others skill level and ended up missing free pieces in the time scramble. It's not a speed thing, it's a psychological thing.
