I know this is old but I got director's cut Death Stranding on Steam and the is unplayable putting the CPU up to 80% and constantly crashing the game. Meanwhile to play it from pirating it from Fitgirl well Fitgirl shows the game is playable. I could only guess the online or Denuvo is messing with it but supposedly these kind of posts state Denuvo was removed. Now for Fitgirl it definitely would be removed like any pirated game which makes me think that Death stranding didn't truly remove Denuvo which is causing most the issues with the game.

same. the more annoying drm was going, the more i downloaded games for free with removed DRM (especially when it comes to Denuvo...). Its completely the publishers fault if they dont sell much games anymore. Sadly some games are still today not aviable like for example THPS 1+2 But others than most games, i somehow felt the game was worth to pay for it since its a awesome remastered and improved Pro Skater title. So i didnt even had to feel bad. And i really try to boycott greedy companies, not only software development... since many years i boycott also Intel, AMD and especially Nvidia

Monster Hunter: World did improve a lot after they removed Denuvo. Namely in means of: Lower input delays (noticeable in any menu), searching for SOS/Session speeds are almost instant now (used to take upwards of 10 seconds to search), FPS drops in certain areas are slightly better (notably Hoarfrost Reach and Ancient Forest)... *Overall performance isn't noticeably better.* The difference in performance is negligible (up to 3-5 frames) but the game is more stable now (less performance drops) and any sort of loading/searching is much faster. In short: Yes, it works better. I can confirm that Monster Hunter: World was impacted by Denuvo to an extent. The removal of Denuvo can't help greatly because the game is already mostly unoptimized so it's hard to tell it from general performance especially if your initial performance was low to begin with.

I tested RE2 myself and i got a lot better performance without denuvo. This is on my laptop with a dual core and gtx 850M so i think it makes a much larger difference on older hardware.

I enjoy these videos, but you should pay more attention to your significant digits (or significant figures). If you have two significant digits in your measurements, say 65 seconds, then you can't give us a percentage change to 6 significant digits, say 287.229%. The best you could write is a percentage also with 2 significant digits (i.e., 290%). Regardless of the invalid increase in the apparent increase in precision, it does us no good to see a percentage down to the thousandths of a percent. I'd put a link in to Wikipedia's article on "Significant Figures", but KZbin would probably just delete the comment.

I mean, it doesn't take a genius to see that if a file is few times larger despite being supposed to achieve the same thing, one will be faster. Even absolutely perfectly written code of any DRM will slow down code execution, even if it would be practically unnoticeable (even an instruction to skip DRM part of code is another extra step for CPU after all). However, what are the chances that Denuve employs god-tier coders? I mean, Denuvo rarely lasts any significant amount of time (usually only games that no one was interested in in the first place remain uncracked long enough to be brag-worthy).
