I own the Melee. I use 30’s. Tubeless. Ultegra Di2. Fizik 3D printed. I put a big Kawasaki green decal to promote the brand. I received the bike in a month. I love the asymmetrically changing square organic shape changing triangles and square tubes. The aesthetics based on aerodynamics form a wild look. I don’t think it looks anything like the others. The look is gorgeous with battleship grey with a contrasting decal.

Having up to 35c means you can take this bike to light gravel. Which is good, to compensate the fact that average people wont be able to have a second bike once after they pay that much money for this. Still a lovely bike though,

why would spend that much $ to potentially have rocks etc bash the carbon paint job of your road bike & possibly cause frame integrity issues? Get an MTB or pure gravel bike to do that. Sub 900gram frame means its not as tough as a gravel bike for sure.
@cameronfrancis5975

@@fujitsubo The market that this bike is going to appeal to, is probably not going to take issue with spending that much money on a gravel bike. I would buy this bike in a heartbeat an have one do it all road bike. Wouldn't bother me a bit, ill buy one and when I replace it with a new road bike in a couple years, ill use it as a light gravel bike.

If you ever question the major bike companies about why there bikes are so expensive they say it’s because of “research and development “ if this is the case how is it they all look identical? Surely they haven’t all come to the exact same conclusion

Very good point...but, they have to design their own or by the patent from another company and they wont sell it, so each company must design their own. Therefore, its big bucks to them.

Not sure about the hate for wide wheel support. What is wrong with support for that? You don't have to use wide rims and they even make the bike more aero if recent track bikes are to be believed. How is a bike giving you less choice and less aero benefit somehow better?
@invisiblescout6335
@invisiblescout6335 2 жыл бұрын
It worsens handling because that type of desing is less stiff without adding extra material. Some track bikes have wide forks and seat stays to get them in line with the riders' legs and improve the aerodynamics of the whole system. Slightly wider forks like on gravel and road bikes do nothing of the sort and worsen aerodynamics by increasing frontal area
@kidShibuya
@kidShibuya 2 жыл бұрын
@@invisiblescout6335 it's meant to reduce turbulence coming off the wheel. Also extra material to make the fork arch slightly larger isn't much, no need for it to be weaker

Styling not a million miles from my Cervelo Aspero, which is a reverse of concept of this Melee in that it’s designed for larger tires (ships with 38s) but I’m currently running 30mm GP5000s to keep up on group rides. GC I know you’re all-in on 23 or 25mm road tires or whatever, but another thing to bear in mind on the Enve is that some 32mm slicks (they make the Contis in that size) measure up to 34mm on some wheels (e.g. my Enve 3.4s), so it can still be a fast road machine - just a comfortable one on crappy pavement.

So here's my transparant review on the Enve. I purchased and built it with all high end equipment SRAM AXS, ceramic speed, Enve wheelset. with eerything 17lbs (pedals, garmin mounts -rear/front, cages) not bad at all. so compared to my SWORKS Venge -both are stiff, i think the venge is a little more. with the Melee it was snappy off the line, around corners, etc. but when i hit speeds around 30 pulling it's hard to maintain for long periods vs my Venge. Tomorrow i pick up my new build Dogma F. I decided to go with this one since it's now lighter and a little on aero side like my venge. Truely i wish they kept making the venge but unfortunatelly they think the SL7 is the answer to both lines. still prefer my venge over any bike i've had. well, we will see after the Pinarello F

Have seen some people get either the Aethos or Crux with two wheelsets and try to come up with a gearing set up that will work for light gravel or mixed surface riding as well as fast road riding. With the popularity of events like BWR this is becoming more and more a thing. As a Canadian I like the idea of a road bike that I can throw fenders on and ride through the winter. I did it this past winter on wet slushy roads with a 12 year old Tarmac with full fenders and 26c Pirelli 4S tires, also ended up on some light gravel on some of those rides. Going forward my winter road bike will be my gravel bike with a 32-36c road or light gravel tire (like the Roubaix Pro) and full fenders. If I had this ENVE it would be my good summer race bike (like my Cervelo is now) for the first years of ownership but like the idea that I could hang onto it and use it for winter road riding and winter group rides and multi-surface races as it got older and I had a nicer "summer race bike".

@@GCPerformance18 80% of my rides are on wet surfaces or in rain and on bad road surfaces. Having large tyre clearance and mudguards makes a bike much more usable here in the UK. And Envee being only race bike offering that it makes a huge difference here in how people see this bike. Many of us is not blessed with extra space for many bikes. So such a bike which can operate as winter/commute/race/allroad bike would make lots of sense for an average UK cyclist. I ride through the winter and it rains, a lot. It's unlikely I'll be putting anything bigger than a 28mm on it but the possibility is intriguing for certain events.
