I think the decision of Ryan García to not cut weight could have been influenced by Floyd Mayweather. With his vast experience, he knows that winning without a title on the line can be a better business move than risking a loss in pursuit of the title. As for strategies in the ring, I doubt Floyd revealed anything specific against Haney. Ryan fought as he usually does, but this time displayed more power in his punches. Also, why would he rely on recorded sparring when there's the fight where Lomachenko exposed him? It's clear García was trying to emulate Lomachenko, albeit with his own twist, leveraging his greater knockout power.

Why? Because Ryan boxed like garbage, engaged in a tactic so dirty and unsportsmanlike in turning his back that the ref should have deducted 5-6 points or called timeout and told Haney hitting Garcia anywhere above the belt is clean, front or back and then was lucky enough to be facing the one fighter unaware of Garcia's only chance to beat any decent boxer? I don't think RG is smart enough to learn from what Floyd may have told him nor do I think Haney would have changed anything if he found out that Mayweather told Garcia everything he knows about Devin's style, tendencies, weaknesses and tips on beating him.

Yeah, ryan boxed like garbage and engaged in the dirty tactic of mashing Devin's face like he just stole from his grandma, gave that buck a proper asswhooping he won't be recovering from, not even his brother the ref could save Devin Haney from leaving that ring concussed and with a broken jaw, when RG popped Huggy Haney in the mouth after a break in the 7th round he earned millions of fans around the world. Devin Haney was a protected fighter and another overhyped LDBC prospect with no chin, no power and subpar skills, that only fights in Vegas with 3 stacked referees in his favor and a referee who will allow him to clinch and hug his way for several rounds when he gets hurt, the fact Ryan Garcia also has subpar skills, the fact he repeatedly kept doing the bussy roll and giving Haney his back and ass just makes the ass whooping he gave him even better.
