At the end of July I took my 2018 Fat bob with a Stage 2 zippers cam, V&H exhaust, the extras that were on the bike from previous owner come to around $5k (including the items mentioned). I also brought my 2012 Sportster 72 with a stage 1 (V&H air cleaner and min grenades exhaust). According to KBB trade in for stock of both would be $14.9k on the FB and 6k on the 72. Again that is for stock so I expected those numbers. More obviously would have been nice but to get the actual worth of aftermarket parts the way to go is just selling the bike personally to someone. Anyway, first dealership I went to was the local HD I got the 72 from a few years ago. They had no Road King's but I still asked for a trade in value. They refused due to me not wanting to buy something off their floor. I asked them to bring in a RK and I would and they said they couldn't. Ok whatever. I then went to the dealer I got the FB from. They offered me a total for both bikes of $15,335. And told me they could give me more but only if I finance a new bike through HD. I couldn't put the trade value towards a used bike and I couldn't go through my own bank. They had a 2020 RKS I was looking at and they gave me a price of $29.5k. I told them they were insane. I then went 3+ hours from my house after finding a sweet RKS with a bunch of aftermarket parts. Only a stage 1 with a 107 but has about $4k in aftermarket parts. The dealership ended up giving me $15k for the FB and $5.5k for the 72. The tag on the 2018 Road King Special I ended up with was $23.5k. In reality the two bikes I traded should have been a lot closer to $17k and I can't argue with with the amount I got for the 72. I wanted $6k and they gave me $5.5k. I paid $6k for is in 2018. In the end the dealerships don't care. They ended up selling the FB before I even left the lot for $19.5k and the 72 a week later for $7k.

It’s unreal the amount of money they make on some of these bikes. I understand that dealerships have a job to do and gotta keep the lights on somehow, but some of these offers they throw out aren’t even close! Thanks for the comment on your experience brother

I was in a dealership yesterday with so many new bikes in there it was tough to walk around. Bike market going to be changing fast.

yup cant walk in the one down the road from me.. these 2024 Harleys my opinion there not what they where I would never trade my 2022 in for one. if I got anything be a very low mile 2022. or 2023 before the change,, They can keep all this new tech 25 inch screen that belongs on your wall in the tv room at your house.. lmao/ The 22 2023 have it all over these new bikes. a few people like but got another inch in suspension go buy shock. but the digital go buy some Dakota Digital gauges they look better anyway.. lol and people wonder hy there 8 thousand less, well there trying to push these bikes out if anyone thinks it cause of interest rates should think again. think Harley cares about you saving money,, LMAO Yes thats there go to.. too worry about how much they can save you.. LMAO.. Actually enjoying seeing this model go completely down dealers don't know what to do they have so many wait till next year you get a 2024 half price. and a 2022 going to be 10k more I've already seen it.. 2022 models are going for a lot more.. ask them why well its cause the new bike yeah ok... lol good hunting.. 🤣🤣🤣

@@lawtondevil I agree. Don’t like the 2024 big screen no gauge design and would rather have a 2023.

Your number estimates in the head are pretty spot on. No less than $20k! Also why I only deal with Hunters Moon...they keep it real.

Yeah definitely something to think about. It’s crazy how dealerships can give you such different numbers!

Rumbleon gave me way more for a Pan America than any Harley dealer would. Giving a bike to the dealer is crazy, just set your money on fire.

It is so funny how bad they lowball. I say they offered you like 14,800 -15, 500k for yours. When I was thinking about trading my 2018 FLHC with Stage2, full 33" fishtails, 14" bars and few other ods and ends I hit up 3 different HDs and got 3 different prices. Clean NADA/KBB was $13,800-15,500 trade, and retail mid $16 to 17k. First stop, Richmond HD....13k. Second, All American HD....12,400 due to needing to swap my bars to meet MD inspection....and it's already registered and inspected in MD with those bars, so yea some BS. Third was Washington DC HD...without going back and forth gave me $14,800 and sold it for 16,500 3 days after I traded it. Got my 21 RKS out the door for 14k after the trade. It was nice to find a dealer who was fair.

Yeah it’s Crazy man it’s all a game! It was just funny to see a pic the exact same year as mine with more miles and bone stock and they have it on the floor at 23k! It’s crazy to me
@jasonbreedlove4952 жыл бұрын
@@GetThisNick it's beyond crazy. How do you like the straight jacket bars? I've got 12" double trouble but thinking of doing 14" straight jackets.
@GetThisNick2 жыл бұрын
I do like the 14’s but a lot of people who are around my height (6’2) swear to get 16 inch bars. I’ve never ridden with 16’s so idk. The 14’s are very comfortable though

I sold vehicles for a long time. I don't do it anymore because I have a conscious. The one big thing our managers would tell us is make sure and devalue the trade as much as you can every time! Salesmen can make a killing on low balling the shit out of trade in. Don't ever trust anyone at a dealership. Do your research and know how to buy before you go in!

What your idea is and what a business will offer (through JD Power) for your H-D dealership will offer is greatly different. Also, any dealership will tell you, you will get more in a private sale. You’re making it sounds as though a businesses is not in business to make money.

they hit you at 14.000 worth 27.500 with upgrades I got a 22 road king special the upgrades Are worth the money. someone is going to want it.. will never sell mine I love it way to much invested Kruse T Bars stage 2 screaming eagle holins suspension 4,5 slip ons so much more. why sell a bike put so much into you bought new took care of it put all that money in it. to spend 25 to 30k on a new harley that has nothing you want on it. Harleys last for a long time. people should keep there bikes. if anything happens 6 years down the road put a new motor in it.. I been down this road with Harley actually got 19.500 for a 21 low rider when the trade price was up and got on the 22 road king special. best bike I ever had. oddly enough I went in a few weeks ago with my road king to see they offered 17.000 my pay off 14.000 no thanks. was not going to happen anyway. I don't like the full screen on these new bikes. I hear the 2024s are dong great tho.. LOL NOT// Harley tells you the upgrades are not worth anything but when I told them I was taking everything off after they gave me a number they just looked at me.. and then never called me back whats up with that.. I guess those upgrades are worth something they seen a 10.000 dollar ticket vanish before there eyes when I said that.. LMAO Well do you have all the parts yup I do.. lol then well it cost so much to do that in labor. I Told them nope I got that covered I can do it,, give me a call let me know im still waiting 3 weeks later.. lol
