Wellll..... I mean you are right to a certain extent because, technically, anybody can preach really. BUT (and this is a big but)..... A female preacher should really pay attention to her audience. If her message contains instruction, and there are men in the audience, that's a good sign that you cannot preach to that audience. Period. God has NEVER, at ANY time, intended a woman to usurp ANY authority of ANY kind over a man. Today's "church" has been wrong for hundreds of years now. It's all ingrained and entwined into today's church age, so now has become normal. I will say, them Islam and Muslim folk do have THAT down, because their women are NOT to tell them what to do! But, us Christians? In this so-called Body of Christ? We let our women instruct ANY man in WHATEVER! And it's okay! Well but, it has nothing to do with undermining women though, either. It's just about the role as a woman that God himself has made and ordained them as. Like Paul said: the man came first, not the woman. So, that's the role.
@walthaleii
@walthaleii Ай бұрын
Here is why this is missed! A woman in a church isn't allowed to teach nor asurp authority over the man! But a woman can teach a man about God outside of a church gathering because Aquila and Priscilla taught Apollos! So it's just in a church gathering they can't teach! And the reason for it is because of Eve!

Preach and pastoring are not the same. Paul even said in 1 Corinthians somewhere around the 15th or 16th chapter encouraged women to prophesy. He seemed to be okay with women prophesying, but when it comes to the church or the leading of the flock, it appears that God, not men, have appointed men. God did it. So, I personally don't even have an issue with women preaching/ministering whatever term you want to use sharing the gospel. I do have a problem with women pastoring/shepherding/leading people as it would relate to a church congregation.

The Bible says, "In the last days, my sons and my daughters shall prophesy which means to speak God's message or deliver moral and spiritual teachings. We have to understand that women were treated differently back then than they are now, but Jesus was the One who brought equality to men and women but He had an order in which He did so. He didn't teach a woman to usurp her authority over a man and neither did Paul. Everything needs to be done decently and in order. But men need to understand and honor women in ministry. If God anoints them to teach or preach they need to honor that and not work against the women. God sets order for protection not to deny a woman the use of her gift as some men with no understanding are doing. Paul acknowledged women and their roles in ministry and told men to support them Romans 16.

You are my brother in Christ. I do believe however in this particular passage, you may be misguided on this. Priscilla and Aquila were the only ones named which would fit the “they” definition. To add anyone else to this scenario would be an attempt to add to scripture. Agree with your point overall with woman preachers but Priscilla and Aquila were the ones to speak to Apollos.

@BlackTanjiro1, the Bible only says that “ they, (Priscilla & Awuila6,), explained to Apollo’s the way of God more perfectly. It doesn’t tell what either Priscilla or Aquila actually said.
@BlackTanjiro1
@BlackTanjiro1 Ай бұрын
@ It says they in reference to Priscilla and Aquila. It doesn’t not matter what was said. They instructed Apollos on how to expound the Gospel more perfect. Wondering what they said is trying to add to scripture. We do not know but the Bible records that their instruction guided Apollos to a greater convocation.

The Word of God proclaims, “A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent” (1 Timothy 2:11-12). In the church, God assigns different roles to men and women. This is a result of the way mankind was created and the way in which sin entered the world (1 Timothy 2:13-14). God, through the apostle Paul, restricts women from serving in roles of teaching and/or having spiritual authority over men. This precludes women from serving as pastors over men, since pastoring definitely includes preaching, teaching publicly, and exercising spiritual authority. The fact that Eve was deceived is also given as a reason for women not serving as pastors or having spiritual authority over men (1 Timothy 2:14). This does not mean that women are gullible or that they are all more easily deceived than men. If all women are more easily deceived, why would they be allowed to teach children (who are easily deceived) and other women (who are supposedly more easily deceived)? The text simply says that women are not to teach men or have spiritual authority over men because Eve was deceived. God has chosen to give men the primary teaching authority in the church. God has ordained that only men are to serve in positions of spiritual teaching authority in the church. This does not imply men are better teachers or that women are inferior or less intelligent. It is simply the way God designed the church to function. Men are to set the example in spiritual leadership-in their lives and through their words. Women are also to set an example in their lives, but in a different way (1 Peter 3:1-6). Women are encouraged to teach other women (Titus 2:3-5). The Bible also does not restrict women from teaching children. The only activity women are restricted from is teaching or having spiritual authority over men. This bars women from serving as pastors to men. This does not make women less important, by any means; rather, it gives them a ministry focus more in agreement with God’s design.

@@BlackTanjiro1Wondering is not adding. I can wonder what someone said in the Bible without adding scripture. The definition of wonder is simply to “wish was known”. Priscilla and Aquila’s words aren’t known. If Corey said that he knew what they said with no text to back it up, that would be adding. Also- your last statement “a greater convocation” isn’t found in the text. There is no where in that scripture that indicates that Apollos spoke to a larger assembly of people as a result of the words from Priscilla and Aquila. We have no reference of the size of audience he spoke to before or after he was given the more accurate understanding. Where we can agree is that according to text, Apollos was given a more accurate understanding. Scripture also says Apollos was “taken aside”- not preached to by them which is the greater issue here. Women are not allowed to have preaching or teaching (shepherding) authority over men according to scripture. But men and women can give guidance and correction using scripture as the Word indicates as brothers and sisters in Christ.
@BlackTanjiro1
@BlackTanjiro1 Ай бұрын
@ You can wonder correct. However to question or ignore what is said just because it does say what they said specifically is dangerous and heretical. They spoke to Apollos and guided him to a better explanation. Point blank. We don’t need to infer that anyone else was there or wonder if it was a secret man there because that’s not in the text. The point is not diminished if Priscilla and Aquila gave Apollos a word. Priscilla and Aquila weren’t “shepherding” Apollos by providing him a few anecdotes. That’s reading into the text my brother

This video commentary makes no darn sense🤦🏾‍♀️ Anyone who GIVES BIRTH to the WORD HIMSELF is by far logically greater than a preacher preaching (Pastor) a watered down, passed down, second hand experience of the WORD OF GOD. Use your brains people. It’s not that difficult. I am not going to put more emphasis on an epistle doctrine than I am understanding the God of Logos (Logic). You can let Corey fool you with beautiful doctrinal phrases that are not the heart of the Father. He also has you all fooled on them spiritual gifts because you all refuse to seek God for yourselves. Men will nullify anything it fails to comprehend. I’m all for exegeting the Scriptures, but if you don’t have the mind of Christ, you will preclude God from using people in ANY CAPACITY.

Wow, a lady that calls herself and apostle just also happens to think that Mary gets credit because she carried Christ?! Nothing against Mary, but she was human just as everyone else. This means she falls into line as everyone else. She is a part of the body, with no special privileges. The same as you, SISTER Alicia.

We have to remember, a lot of these Preachers/ Pastors are not called by God. It is easy in this day and time to buy a certificate or degree, jump on youtube and start a ministry. It is going to take great discernment even more now that Trump is promoting the Bible, Bible sales has rose, the business of ministry is about to begin. If we thought we had false prophets now, be on the lookout. I'm glad God is blessing me to do what I desired to serve him, that is TEACH his Word, for if you are taught scripture from God, you can't be fooled by these false pastors and preachers

Settled at about 1100 B.C. Then Paul came along. Full read time: 10 minutes I suggest my free scripturally-based essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. ...the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people... In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’ -excerpt 1 Chronicles 17 verse 6 NASB translation

Here’s a plot twist: I agree with women preachers, but I agree with Corey that this reasoning is terrible. These men are talking about the Lord using women to share news not preaching the Gospel. Who is this guy anyway? I believe there are better reasoned explanations for women preaching. Nonetheless, Corey IS my brother in Christ, he is a sound teacher, even if we might disagree on this point. I’m not being nit picky, but didn’t Paul say that “I do not allow…?” God bless and Merry Christmas! 🙏🏽✝️🙏🏽

@DerekCulpepper-vu3cd Ай бұрын
@melliemel32, if you agree with women preachers, then you disagree with Gods Word, as the Bible clearly forbids a woman to preach, teach, pastor or have any leadership position over men in the church. And yes, Paul did say that “I do not allow, because he was doing & writing as God told him to do, by the authority that God gave him to say & do. Read 1 Corinthians 14:33 & you’ll see that Paul says that all he writes is for ALL CHURCHES OF THE SAINTS & continue to read to verse 37 & you’ll see that Paul clearly states that all he says/writes is a Command of the Lord. So Paul did not write any scripture based on his own personal opinion or ideas.

You said something that's very important, Curry. Men and women can share their view on the word of God. And the congregation ought to judge what has been said. Remember, Paul said, let two or three speak and the others judge All the members of the body are to work together, men and women. The head is Christ. None of these religious institutions operate in the proper manner recorded in scripture
