Leather usually has more give, The linings are usually nicer (canvas or cotton) fabric with inconspicuous stitching, The stitching is uniform and even, the inner tag should have a serial number, the straps should be well attached and the inside filler should not show, The hardware should be uniform, You can also tell leather by the smell ! Those are some easy giveaways but there's always exceptions like my coach 'market totes' have no lining at all and that's just how those bags are. Some vintage bags also have differences as standards have changed. Also, just bc theres a serial doesn't mean it's real! You gotta look that up bc they put fake serials allll the time.

They are fake but they are the "good" fakes, the ones that cost 100/200 euros because they're done better, instead of 2000. There's a rich market for "good" fakes.

Definitely fake! The printing on the dust cover bag isn't crisp, they would never put a plastic sleeve over the handles, and definitely wouldn't put a tacky blue plastic protector over the metal letters. Plus, they're flattened. Gucci would NEVER! I haven't gotten much further than that but just thought I'd mention a few of the obvious points. Plus, if they were real and brand-new, the grandkid would be selling on TheRealReal or eBay or something instead for an appropriate amount. Okay...headed back to watch!

And the pattern on the bag isn't symmetrical or lined up at the seams; something that Gucci or any other high end fashion house would allow for quality control. Dead giveaway that they're knock offs. Even first glance at that dust bag i could tell the dust bag quality is fake with the supremely cheap "fabric" and the blurred writing.

As someone who has never been anywhere near a handbag that expensive, and doesn't even use handbags/purses, I probably wouldn't know right away just by looking at it. The bigger red flags for me were that the seller was getting rid of them for such a low price. Even if the back story was true, I'm quite certain if grandma had the money for Gucci, the grandkids would know and know where to get the right price if they wanted to sell the bags on. That said, I'd still have to look up the signs of a fake and go through the list until I found something like the serial number tag that was something I had more of a clue for.

Dunno if that could be of any interest, but "controllato" is italian for "checked". That tag is the proof that the bag passed all the quality check, afaik. BUT, another interesting thing is that... In italian open air markets, it's common that knockoffs have fake price tags that are ripped (like the one you have behind the controllato labels, with the 9), poorly deleted with markers, barred and so on. They do it in order to tell you "you see, it's original, look at the previous price, mine is cheaper!" Like for example, your label shows a 9 as first number, so the "previous price" supposedly was 900 euro or more, and they can sell it for you for hundreds even if the value is way less being fake.

Honestly, if a bag looks Gucci on the outside and feels decent quality but for hundreds of bucks cheaper then you can fool anyone, who will be looking inside and inspecting your bag to see if its real?

Anyone who knows or cares about that sort of thing would be able to tell that the bag was a fake from a mile away. Instead of spending money on a counterfeit, it probably makes more sense to buy a reasonably priced handbag that isn't trying to be something it's not. There are plenty of amazing handbags between $80-100 just as good as Gucci, but don't have a famous brand name. Jackie probably paid $60 for what should have been a $20-40 bag because even fake Gucci gets a mark-up. (But what Jackie did to them made them wonderful and one-of-a-kind.)

Choosing a favorite is tough. I’m legally blind but still have some vision. I probably would enjoy the amount of texture on the rainbow bag and the design isn’t as chaotic which makes seeing the details easier. On the other hand I’d love to get an example of your sculpting style that I can touch and look at close. Also the koi bag’s color combination is gorgeous. I love purple and yello, that blue makes the bag pop. The Koi bag looks more professional but I’m a colorful person which the rainbow bag is. The Koi bag to me is more ornate. This is really hard! I hate making final decisions that are important and can’t be changed! Either way, if I don’t win, I hope who ever wins will appreciate the money, time, and creativity. Keep creating things that you enjoy. You are unique and we all love who you are. Always stay true to yourself.

My fiancée was telling me the bags were probably fake as we were watching and I had a feeling they might be because the metal lettering seemed wonky (technical term) but I am not well versed in the art of hand bags. Either way the customization, in my opinion, is an improvement. I love all things aquatic and so my favorite would have to be the koi fish bag. My fiancée also likes the koi bag the most. I was half expecting the sprinkle song when you whipped out the sprinkles though. Lol.

I have no designer anything but that duster is an immediate give away 😂 look up Gucci duster and you will definitely see how much of quality difference there is and that's not even the bag. Plus they would never come with plastic on it. The sound the lining fabric makes screams cheap. I am sure there is a ton more, but the duster bag made me literally laugh out loud.

I guessed it was fake when I saw the stitching on the inside. It looked very obvious, not subtle like a good designer bag. Edit to add I think the candy theme bag is gonna be my favorite, even though the koi fish are awesome

I really love the way the rainbow/dessert purse blends with the fabric, it makes me actually like the Gucci print haha. That is definitely my favorite, although I think the koi turned out stunningly.
