@@TalonSei Do you know what the offset is for the factory TRD Pro wheels that you swapped out? I'm also looking to swap out my tires to 35/12.5, however, I'd like to keep the 18" stock Pro wheels, but would like to keep the poke at bay (maybe just a tad beyond the flared fenders). If they're +25, I think I should be okay, but if they're 0 offset, that may result in more "poke" than I'd like. I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Great video! @ 5:00 I'm pretty sure the TH skids are steel which is why they are thinner, I installed one on my TRD Offroad and it was very heavy/beefy. Also the description when I bought from my dealer said steel.
@TalonSei11 күн бұрын
I didn’t have a magnet to check but you are right. Curious to see how they hold up to some actual off road uses compared to some beefier aftermarket options 👍🏼

So much of this is down to taste and budget. I went with the trailhunter because it’s a bit more understated looks wise/doesn’t have those seats so I can carry passengers/ mine has a 6’ bed. Perfect for me but everyone’s needs are different. If you want a 6’ bed and a hybrid like I did, it’s the only trim option rn. The hybrid is so nice + the 2400w inverter is super useful for work! The air intake sound isn’t that loud honestly unless you’re spooling the turbo constantly ~ if you drive mellow it’s pretty quiet.

haha, TRD Jon feature on Stuff and Things was not on my 2024 bingo card. Fox sus FTW. I have fox on everything, including my 2019 TRD Pro Taco. Glad you had the opportunity to test them both side-by-side. That's super helpful for those of us trying to see the (real) differences between the two stock builds. (Plus, another channel's TH's compressor failed, and Toyota doesn't have the parts to fix it, yet. I'm sticking w the Pro. But that bronze color iss siiiiiick.

@@TalonSei Could you confirm the wheel offset for the factory TRD Pro wheels you swapped out? I'd like to swap out the factory tires with true 35"s (i.e. 35/12.5). I want to have minimal poke, but keep the factory wheels if at all possible. If the factory wheel's offset is +25, I think I should be fine, but if it's a 0-offset, I'm thinking it'll have a little more poke than I'd like. I appreciate any feedback you can provide. Thank you!

very cool. I wonder if the other trd models are worth it too .. TRD sport, TRD off road?
@TalonSei11 күн бұрын
The only one I haven’t driven is a sport. The off road is nice, as long as it’s a hybrid. My advice is, if you have a 3rd gen don’t upgrade unless it’s to an iforce max model. If you don’t have a truck at all then starting with a gas model 4th gen is a good option.
@pjbarney958011 күн бұрын
@TalonSei cool I drive alot for work... I have a Corolla... I'm looking at anything that can be made into an every day Tank... fj cruiser, Tacoma, 4runner, I want gas only though! hybrid and electric just isn't there with cost effective to me. when they come out with an electric car that will go 10K miles on a charge I'll look into them. oh and sitting outside in the sun will charge them... It really bugs my eco friends when I point out that their hybrid actually gets less "gas mileage" because your gas engine is working harder to pull the extra battery weight. now it's faster and more torque and some of that but you are gonna spend $10k+ in a couple years to replace all those batteries and they are full of flammable toxic chemicals too.... soap box speech ended... lol
@raulserrato504610 күн бұрын
Who cares? if you are gonna modify pretty much all of the suspension on whatever you are gonna buy...in the end the differences will be nullified by your modifications.

I have a 24 trailhunter and really love it! It was a complete toss up between this and the trd pro, and only ended up with a trailhunter because I found one before a trd pro. I don't think you can go wrong with either truck, and I kinda wish I had the fox suspension on mine, but the trd pro also has unusable back seats? Bone stock I think the trailhunter looks slightly better, but when it comes down to it, your basicay splitting hairs in almost every category. I do like the rarity of the trailhunter, I live in a big city and have only seen one, besides mine. The one thing that I am not happy with at all is the mpg im getting. I'm averaging 15-17 mpg, and that's bone stock, driving it very light footed. Does anyone have any input on this, because It's rated at 22-24mpg....I'm not even close to that???

can you fit people in the back? I've read that the trd pro has very limited space because of the front seats, does the trailhunter have the same issue?

@appleztooranges because they take an insanely small sample size of people who experience an issue and amplify it on the internet without forming their own actual opinion. As a full time tech of over 15 years I'm still hesitant to agree with that. Especially in the higher trims where the hybrid is not an option and forced on you. Overlanding and off roading I want a vehicle as simple as can be. Adding a hybrid system to me is just not logical. If it was an option on the trd pro and trail hunter that would be totally fine. However forcing it to me is the most ignorant idea Toyota has had in several years.
