Its a gamble..... My girlfriend went overseas to work. I gave her the ticket and my trust. After she was earning, she then started sounding more independent and showing of her new found financial status and went from loving to cheeky. She transformed from conservative to outgoingly fashionista. Found out she was having an affair which she denied like no tomorrow. When that fizzled out she tried reconciling. Gave her the cold shoulders and said good riddance. As usual, you end up as the bad guy. Just be strong. Anyway, not all relationship are like mine.

Then you'd need to worry. You guys are fine. You're just the right amount of maturity. Clean cut, and military handsome, level headed. Just who she'll want to be with. If you have a younger wife and there is no inheritance to leave once you pass away, then you must instead offer her the tools to be able to secure her, and your son´s, future financially -which a good education is. So you have done an truly honorable thing by providing her that. You have a great personal chemistry between the two of you, and you have built a nice life for you and your family over there, walked the talk. She knows that, and it makes you very attractive to her as a woman.

I am going to share a personal story that happened to me in my lifetime. I married a girl from outside the United States when i was 35 she was 18, and we had 2 beautiful children she took care of the children, and i provided there were never any problems. I decided 6 years later to send my wife to the United States so she could work and we could live in the United States. Once she started working in the United States, she did a 180. I believe if we had stayed living abroad, we would still be married today. Women change when they become independent in the united states there is no way to change that no matter who you are. You need to make a decision as you are the leader of the family. Living with less and being happy. Or living with more and having nothing.

Brother Tim, the big question is that are you ready to become a “house husband” when you relocate to the US and she starts working as a nurse? Not too many can afford yayas in the states. And she might not want to come back to the Philippines when she receives that big paycheck. Your biggest test will be when you guys come to a point where you will have to decide the lifestyle you want to live, be it full time or part time in the states or Philippines. Just so you know, it is great to see the growth and maturity Chrissy has gone through. I hope both of you continue to seek the Lord’s guidance as you progress in life’s journey!

Hi Tim , your great letting her go to College with a son but America alone with what's going on today . I'm kind person but in my little town in Connecticut I was attacked by a 6'3" 30 year old guy . I'm lucky people helped me It's just not safe Tim. I'm Praying she doesn't ask the wrong person for help because she doesn't drive so she'll have to take other transportation. I Pray Tim she's gonna be safe in Jesus name let this innocent young lady get home safely . ❤️‍🔥🙌 AMEN

YOU DID THE RIGHT THING TIM! Let her go so she can learn to fly on her own. Asian women in general will be devoted to you and only you if you gave her the love and care she never had before. Plus since your American (caucasian is +) then you do not need to worry. The thing about asian women especially from the village they do want to feel value by making an earning too. Also if things do not work out then they will need support themselves and their family. So learning to work and earn their own money gives them assurance but also they feel like their also helping their husband paying the bills.

My future wife is 20 years old Filipina. I live in USA. My opinion is, sounds like you turned her into American women. Doesn't sound like that's what you wanted. I don't. Its a long journey to guide your wife. Especially with age gap. I'm guiding my Filipina to have balance. Learn how to live without me, but don't forget her roots of being a Filipina. Good luck my friend. It's never to late. God bless 🙌

Yeah I don’t understand why you need to give her this so called ‘independence?’ She is your wife. You should be doing all the important things together. If you married her knowing she had to go where to study & live, then you give up where you live & move together to the college area. If she has to go to USA at all you find a way to go with her. I think you already know the answers to your questions. It seems you have some insecurities or voices being spoken to you where you picked this independence crap from & are willingly following them. Act like a husband & be with your wife. It’s not rocket science. Otherwise you shouldn’t have married her in the first place.

You keep saying you are stifling her and she needs her independence well you are going to learn the hard way mate as soon as she starts making money and even more then you she will walk. She is your wife she is to be by your side all the time that’s the agreement. Being a mum looking after your son.

Big catch 22. The right thing to do for the girl or the right thing to do to keep your family together. My experience was it turned out a disaster for the family unit- but she's completely able to deal with life without me. Our children and their mother have 2 passports. You're taking big gambles but they are just the right thing to do. As a man you can start again.

It's important to know that marriage dependency is a two-way street. This helps each individual feel that they are needed and worth something. It's important to keep away from one polar opposite at any one time. As you wanted a wife to be dependent on you, what are you doing so that your wife is finding you dependable? Other than KZbin video uploads, you have not discussed what your plans are when you return to America. Are you planning to work again? Have you got a job lined up already? As you are aware, the cost of living in America is by far different to that of the Philippines and a husband needs to step up to the plate. If there are money concerns now, what is going to happen when you arrive back in the US and the wife becomes dependent on her husband until she secures a job of her own. There's no housemaid or the other perks as enjoyed in the Philippines for a middle-class family in the US. Securing a place in an American medical school need $US000

Tim, Krissy is a good girl. The problem with independence is what the other western girls will put in her head. Couples fight and that's normal, but in the Philippines, Krissy will be reinforced to be a good wife, respect and honor you and serve God by loving you. In the west, she will reoriented to a new perspective to see you as a low life and see her self above you, educated, and "deserve" better. I respect your decision as her husband, but I would advise that you keep her firmly rooted to God, you, the boy, and the marriage. She doesn't need independence - you two are married. IMHO - you're pushing her toward a career. IMHO - you are pushing her out into the world and away from the family. You married a girl who was everything you wanted already. It is like you are trying to catch her up to speed to the standards of the West. Just worried for you. You asked - that's my advice. God bless brother.

Bottom line is we’re living in a world where people are always looking for the next best thing. Not just a problem here in my country, the United States, but it’s becoming a worldwide epidemic, All thanks to social media. I’m 54 and I’ve figured out it’s best to be alone and focus on my health, business, relationship with God. If he has someone in my future, she’ll show up at some point.

In the west now due to the feminist movement, women really don’t need men. They are very strong and independent. You have given Chrissy that right. Because of the age difference- you did the right thing IMO. She is not only your wife but she must be very thankful to you. Right on Tim!

There’s a saying that “If you love someone, let them go. For if they return, they were always yours. If they don’t, they never was.” Every relationship is tested over time. There was a time a few years ago that I wondered if she was yours. But time has shown that I think she really is yours. I think as Dale has grown, so have the both of you. You’ll know soon enough. Best wishes.
