@@Chisos Don't feel too bad for me Will, I just found out that Rujo doesn't even make a size 15D. It appears they only go up to size 14.

@@jimcollins9999 our 14 is pretty big. And if you put a thinner insole-or take it out completely-it goes up to a size 15. Then you don't have to wait! Might be worth a shot.

Try a thinner insole! This will have the effect of widening the boot. At least until we get enough volume to do EE's in the No. 2 :)

Roughout is super low maintenance. Personally, I will brush it every now and then, but otherwise it doesn't need conditioning.

Mink oil would be an option, then brush so the rough out fibers stand up again.

the boots are soaked before being hand lasted, so there's no problem for cowboy boots to get wet or soaked into water, it's just they need to be properly air dried. I don't mind getting my boots soaked anyway. The boots 've been through the process when being made.

Our advice: don't! Let them patina, take on the dirt and oils of being used. If you're really want to, the same guidance for suede works for roughout.

You waterproof your rough out boot to prevent staining,,not repel water.

Aw then you miss out on that wonderful patina! Plus that eliminates the breathability and turns the boots into a furnace. At least down here in Texas, that's no beuño

What about water and mud and shit though lol I’m sure boots are never gonna just get pure water wet. Oil on roads and puddles and shit…

They’ll hold up, but they’ll definitely stain with oil and shit. Also I wouldn’t recommend mud, you don’t want extended exposure to moisture. Bad for the leather soles. But occasional ain’t gonna kill ‘em.

If I was planning on walking around in Mud, Shit and Oil I definitely wouldn't purchase a pair of $500 boots to do that walking. I would consider a cheaper work boot brand made for shit walking. Just my personal opinion....
