One of the great things about traditional made boots is the ability to get them resoled.

I’ve had my Chisos for 3/4 months , they have been superb straight out of the box, had little break in as they are super comfortable. These are a traditional cowboy boot, the craftsmanship that goes into them being made is great, most importantly they are comfortable and the leather just gets softer . Best boot by far I have brought , been wearing boots over thirty years. Perth , Western Australia

I have had my chisos #2 for a year and a half. They were my 1st traditional made boot and I have chose to use the insole and love it. They were just a little tighter than a firm hand shake but broke in very nice. I have the original outsole and I had a rubber cap put on them. I rotate daily through about a dozen boots from brands like boulet, hondo, los altos, Caudra, tecovas and so on. These Chisos seem to be very unique from all the other boots I own and love them with no regrets even though they cost about double for a cowhide boot. Thankyou for everything you do Jeremiah!!!

I have both the chisos # 1 and #2 in brown. I’ve had the #1s since 2021 and they are amazing. However, I have strange feet, as they are short in length but have a really high instep. This results in chisos boots being very painful for me to break in compared to other boots I have tried. After they break in though, they are very comfortable. Which results in Chisos being the most secure and comfortable boots I own. My first couple weeks with my boots I spilled gasoline on them and left a spot without the dye, so I took a Clorox wipe and removed the dye on the lower half which created a two tone boot! The shaft is dark brown and the lower is a light brown! It’s a good solution for those who run into a similar issue!

I have a pair of the #1's also. Length and width wise they fit me perfectly. However, the very high instep makes the boots fit somewhat loosely. I've put in a thin piece of scrap leather to help fill the gap a bit and it's done the trick well enough. In your case, did the boots break in to fit a little more snug? Did the problem with the big instep ever go away?

I recently purchased the Chisos No.2 in rough out and they have become my favorite pair of boots (so far). They have the look of a cowboy boot but the comfort of a sneaker. The insoles Chisos use are just one of a kind. I actually made the purchase after watching the first review Jeremiah Craig did when he got his, and Rose Anvil's video where he cut his in half. My personal opinion, Chisos boots are top tier quality and reasonably priced. 10/10 would recommend.

I bought my first pair of Chisos - not sure of the number but the Snip Toe - about 1 1/2 -2 years ago I think. I bought the roughout. I was skeptical about mail order boots as out of curiosity I tried Tecovas about 3-4 years ago and while they were very nice the first 5-6 months it became clear they were not for me. I own a horse farm and wear boots 24/7. I have had Lucchese as my go to over the years. I'm old - Boomer Gen. However what got me looking elsewhere was the decline of quality in Lucchese. I find that Lucchese handmade and obviously their custom boots are nice but the prices are outrageous. Back to Chisos...well they are wonderful and the price is very reasonable for the quality. They hold up very nicely and are indeed very comfortable. I have 3 pairs now - they only offer 3 in the snip toe. There are SO many people wearing cowboy boots and hats now, reminds me of a while back during the Urban Cowboy movie craze. I think now it is the Heartland show or that Yellowstone tv show - I don't watch much TV and my style certainly isn’t dictated by that, but hey it is fun to see folks dressing like me now. In my opinion there are a lot of nice boots out there, but I wear snip toes 90% of the time - easier for me to get my old feet in my stirrups. That caveat makes me somewhat limited on the brands I wear - here are my current favorites - in no order: - Chisos - best value off the shelf boot - Black Jack - solid boot - Rios of Mercedes - not much I like in snip toes but it is a great boot nonetheless - Lucchese (only Handmade or Custom) - Heritage Boot Company - very interesting styles and the quality is very nice

Chisos were my first pair of cowboy boots having only worn RM Williams boots previously. I got them online and started wearing them on day one of a holiday in the USA and wore them almost exclusively for the rest of the trip which involved a lot of walking and airline travel. Took a little getting use to and they do make you taller but they broke in nicely after a week and they were comfortable to spend the whole day in from day 1. I found them a little tight across the vamp but a baseball solved that and they are now a great boot I love to wear and that looks amazing.

I bought a pair of no 2 brown used on eBay. They are great. I haven’t tried tecovas but I will say I put ubenaufs leather preservative on all my boots. Esp the edges of the sole. And had sole savers put on them. No issues in water. I think maybe people don’t treat the Leather well enough to sufficiently waterproof it. I wear mine daily and in rainy weather. No issues yet. Veg tan Leather doesn’t like water too much so I condition mine till the water beads off. Probably over condition lol

I bought my first Chisos boots, Brown #2, 3 years ago. They are my nice going out boots. Always clean and shiny. Unfortunately, I bought them too tight thinking they would stretch out more. I can wear them about half a day before the top of my foot gets sore. I did all the stretching tricks and put in a thinner insole I am to the point now that I can wear them all day, but I do miss my Chisos insole. Last year, I bought #2 in the Roughout (I went up a size) usually wear these most casual weekends. I guess I need to get some black #2s this year for Christmas to finish out my color options. I recommend them to everyone that comments or asks about my boots. Just a word of advice, if they feel too tight when you first try them on, exchange them for a larger size, they do not stretch out very much. Also when not wearing them put shoe trees in them. Take care of them and they will last forever.

Fellow Midwesterner here. My Chisos #1's have gone through two Nebraska winters with the original leather soles, and they're still in great condition. To be fair, I didn't wear them much at all in the snow, bit I wore them a lot in the rain, and even in the spring and summer, they have been worn on a lot of wet lawns and muddy corn fields.

Ordered the ropers and they just didn’t feel right on my feet. Nothing that I could really put my finger on, just didn’t feel good. Every review I have read all talk about how comfortable they are, right out of the box but I didn’t experience that so I returned them. I figured that for nearly $600 they should be like “wow!” when I first tried them on. I have a pair of Justins with a work sole that I can remember feeling like sneakers at the store and still are extremely comfortable after two years of wear, that cost around $200.

If you normally wear a 12B, what size did you choose for your Chisos boots?
@BennyTygohome
@BennyTygohome 5 ай бұрын
Regarding Chisos widths, you mentioned your toes were cramped in a D Width because you normally wear a size 12 B width. But isn't a D wider than a B? Or did you compensate by going down to a size 11.5 D because 12 D was just too big for you? And then being a shorter length you had toe cramping? Or am i misunderstanding? Thank you. * I just ordered my first Chisos and they should arrive in two days 👍😀

You're lucky. I only got 6 months before the sole separated from boot (thread rotted out) Called Chisos and was informed "don't get them wet" I avoided water as much as possible except in rain that I got caught in occasionally. Chisos is my last or not existent choice! $500 wasted! My Llama's, Luchase's even Tecova's have never had this problem. If Chisos used good thread they would be good boots! Look good, be comfortable etc. but what the hell they must save a few cents on thread used.

Hey, i've got a company for you to look at. CABOOTS, ever heard of them? Ive been wanting to get a pair of them for some time, due to my grandfather having a pair from 25-30 years ago during his time in the Iowa State Highway Patrol. He passed a few years ago, and his boot size was 2 sizes smaller than mine, so I can't actually wear them. They look and feel exceptional, so I wonder how good they actually are. Anyhow. Thanks (EDIT) They have some pretty over the top designs. But my grandfathers pair is an all black roughout.

I almost purchased a pair of Chisos a couple of years back. Mainly because I was looking for a new pair of boots, but more importantly, I was looking for boots that were traditionally made! I also like the owners story of how he created his company and the fact he used dairy cowhide. Everything sounded awesome until I found out he had athletic shoe insoles in them. I even thought I could just take out the insoles and wear them without. However, the owners personal response to an email I sent concerning this ,he said that the boots were designed to fit whatever size they were with the insole. In other words, if I purchased a pair in my size, they wouldn't fit correctly without the insoles in them. I was disappointed, to say the least! There is a reason high dollar dress shoes and high-quality boots don't have athletic insoles in them. That's because a high-quality boot or shoe doesn't need them. Once broken in, there is no better feel than a high-quality boot! I have a pair of really expensive athletic shoes and I can honestly tell you I'd rather wear my boots all day long than my athletic shoes. It baffles me why a boot company would use insoles other than just to market their boots to people who have never worn a good boot. I understand why Chisos does it, it's business, and I can't fault Chisos for that. I'm apparently not in his target group, sadly. It's sad, really, because not many boot makers are making boots the traditional way anymore. It's even getting hard just to find boots with a leather out sole nowadays! Oh, and don't get me started on all these ridiculous square toe boots! Lol!

@John..556 Yeah, I read that as well. All I can say is ,I'm just not gonna buy boots ,shoes, or clothing online anymore. I just recently purchased a jacket online, and it didn't fit. Not even close even though I ordered according to their sizing chart. It's been a horrible experience having to return it. I'm just not going to order a half size smaller and take the chance they don't fit. Like I said in my original post. I'm not their target market group. Chisos are marketed towards first-time boot wearers who wouldn't normally buy leather soled boots. I'd love to try them on ,however, I'm just not gonna do it online. Maybe one day, a brick and morter retailer will carry them in stock. Like I said, I love the Chisos story and the way they make their boots. I just don't like the silly athletic shoe insole insert.

Looks like they spend more on marketing than addressing QC this video is probably a good testament to that. Just my honest opinion. Hope they redirect and fix their QC including using a better glue.
