YES. Tons of changes. Quality over quantity relationships. Healthy, true friends wouldn’t put you through that type of dynamic, just like a romantic partner. Relationships that don’t reciprocate authenticity aren’t worth your time. Leaving everything up in the air, vague... it’s fucked up. The confrontation can help with closure but at the end of the day, it’s gonna hurt either way. You’re slowly losing someone you thought was in your support circle. That lingering doubt is the worst part. May you find and nurture healthy relationships that celebrate you and ALL that you are. Celebrating you also means calling you out and being honest if they need to if they have your best interest in mind. Everybody go find an incredible therapist!
@jackieaina3 жыл бұрын
Amen and amen! I also find closure to be quite overrated. Once I have made up my mind I don’t need the other person to validate where we stand. I feel like I give the power to them by doing that. I am responsible for how I react and how I feel, I’m not going to sit here and riddle myself with anxiety waiting for the other person to tell me what’s wrong while I’m strung along. We grown! Say how you feel or leave me alone lmao

I've learned that preteen and teen boys will interrupt you no matter what you are doing, but when you ask them questions like, "Would the coral or the rosy pink blush look better with my eyes look today?", "Matte or glossy lip today?", they will leave, and stop coming in to ask you for money, to yell at their brother or to cook for them for the 7th time that morning. When Jackie spoke about being celibate really resonated with me because these days I feel like women judging other women for being or not being celibate is actually caused by the way society makes us view sexuality. He hugged me and told me they all loved me. Weeks later I was ejected from the group because “they needed a break” from me. All this time, I had been there for all of them, listened to them when they needed a friend, helped clean their apartment when they moved, etc. One of them told me that they had been feeling a type of way for a while but they never gave me the chance to correct whatever behavior was bothering them. It was extremely hard for me losing 6 friends at once, but it also strengthened a real friendship in my life.

That talk about friends. Aunty, I FELT IT ALL!!! And I have definitely learned that other folks’ issue w/ me is NOT my cross to bear. I’ve tried it before, and have had my my feelings hurt more because of how they responded (or didn’t). - I’ve really learned to just give it over to Jesus, and mind my business. ❤️ So glad, to know that at 23 I’m learning this, and in your 30s, you’re also experiencing this, and feel comfortable sharing it!

I mean if somebody has a problem with me and doesn't wanna tell me, be my guest it's still their problem. Why would I chase someone who doesn't put the least bit of effort I put. Well said goddess😍😍😍

GIRL, your experience with that friend is completely relatable. I have come across people time and time again where a simple conversation, open communication, could've saved everything, and it started to feel like they were really just hating on me to hate on me. A few times I've managed to find out it was exactly that; they get close, get jealous, get competitive for no reason, and then run you through the wringer. In addition, if they really wanted to solve their problem with you, they have to own up, grow up, and confront you. Otherwise, that friendship is just a landmine waiting to go off.

Let the false friends continue to fall off. Maturity comes to everyone at different times. Everyone is not equipped to receive the luxury of being your friend. Jealousy is a monster. Embrace you, at every stage and every age. I don’t watch you for makeup, although I love your expertise...I don’t watch you for luxury although I love to see all the places you go...I watch you because you’re you. Honey You Are a TRAILBLAZER and an OG on KZbin. You have been the voice for African American Beauty and I love that about you. You speak up for us and a lot of brands have listen so that makes you a leader. Jackie keep winning, People get close to u because they want to do what you do, but they can’t and want u to dumb down your success because they feel some type of way that has nothing to do with you! Girl be happy and continue to pray for those who love disfunction. And if u need a break take it because if u don’t care for u no one else will. Love u love how u represent for the black woman. Continue to move the way you do unapologetically because you are A BOSS❤️
