Running back to get a marker and running back to the window to see it still there should be proof enough that it's not moving. Not saying I hated the idea of this. Honestly, ever since Big Bang Two I stopped thinking too hard about stuff in doctor who, because when I do, I get confused and angry and I stop enjoying it.

From what I understand, the BBC are contractually bound to include the Daleks at least once a year, otherwise they lose the rights, and would have to pay a huge amount of money to the Terry Nation Foundation to get them back. Granted, they have found ways around this, by having a Dalek cameo in The Wedding of River Song for the 2011 quota, and have a brief short/trailer about the Daleks in the trailer introducing Bill, filling in the 2015 quota. From an audience and fan perspective, however, I think the Daleks are far too ingrained into the Doctor Who mythology to warrant such a jarring shift of them not showing up at all.

I'm assuming the opening was during the war between the Thalls and the Kaleds on Skaro. I assume Davros was a Kaled soldier who was wounded by the war and created the Daleks as a weapon of war against the Thalls.

harry mcgiveron I don’t think that’s true, because why does he never go to Gallifrey in the past? And since Time Lords can all time travel, why aren’t there any others (aside from the Master) travelling about from before the war? I’m pretty sure that the time lock makes Gallifrey and Skaro inaccessible even before the war.

I thought the time lock, despite it being applied at the dawn of the Time War, affected the entire planets of Gallifrey and Skaro chronologically In a way it would prevent the Daleks from sucker punching Gallifrey before the war as insult to injury (provided the Daleks won the war)

I remember watching the stolen earth and how it was absolutely chilling to watch all of 10's companions react to hearing "exterminate, exterminate, exterminate" in a message. Now the Daleks are just angry bins covered in disco balls in most of their appearances, and when they aren't they're not threatening because we remember all the times when they were.

You’re Right Gallifrey and Skaro are timelocked... you can only be there if you were already there. That being said, Davros being saved must be a fixed point as the doctors future is apart of Davros’ past along with Clara grabbing the Doctors leg as a child on Gallifrey since he still remembers it before (Present Clara) has ever gone back to actually grab his leg. So essentially they’re apart of history I’m guessing & those events will always happen.

To talk about the whole Dalek situation, there apparently is a reason we see it every season, because of some strange contract with the estates that created the daleks and cybermen. If they arn't in every season at least once then the estates get the rights to those villains back and i doubt they would let the BBC use them again. So while it is annoying to see them so often, i can see why they are doing it.

1) Clara drew a circle to check whether the plane was in fact stopped in mid-air or not. Otherwise you can't really tell, because of how far away it is. She was using the circle to measure the plane. I mean come on, I figured out what she was doing straight away. 2) The dalek eye stalk thing has been around since RTD's time, so I'm not sure why you chose THIS episode to complain about it in. It's established canon that this is a thing at this point. It's a partial conversion; you know how the Doctor said in Clara's first episode that they'd performed a "FULL conversion" on her? This is what a partial conversion looks like. It's not new.

I don't think gallifrey and skaro are totally timelocked like you implied. We see skaro and gallifrey alot in the old series, so I always assumed that the two world's we're locked only in the time war periods, or that the timelocked time war is a pocket or mirror in order to keep the universe intact

There is an airport near shoreditch, it's even in the screenshot in the video. It's london city airport and its near those two straight bits of water just to the north of the thames and east of greenwich. So it is quite plausible for the planes to be that low in shoreditch, if you're gonna moan you can at least be right

minor critique: someone being in the rest of the season does not definitively prove they can'T die in the first episode in a show with timetravel we already had a season where the doctor died in the first episode before - and yes that did turn out to e a copout in the end which was also kind of predictable but at least for the first episode the death was handled as genuine - the older version of the doctor died and the younger version of the doctor stepped in and took off for the rest of the season leaving the implication that the doctor was - at least supposedly - going towards his death which we saw in the first episode - so at least hypothetically neither the doctor nor the tardis nor anyone else is safe just because they have to be in the rest of the season

Daleks are not designed to be emotionless, they’re just stripped of any kind, compassionate and merciful emotions as well as the concept of right and wrong, Daleks keep emotions such as hate, anger, etc. Cybermen are designed to be stripped of all emotions to make the race all equals.
