When Tomac switched to Yamaha, and they were out testing they said they had never seen anyone who held the throttle wide open more than he does. "BETWEEN THE MOTOS JOHN TOMAC March 17, 2022 2:00pm There’s a human element involved in all of this. "Well, the other thing too, Eli has a very unique style. Nobody is going to be harder on the throttle than him. Nobody is going to be harder on the brakes than Eli. So, from a perspective of a tuner, when Eli comes on board, they’ve never seen what he does from any other rider. We had the Japanese engineer out here one time and they had a throttle sensor on there. He’s like, “Okay, let’s go do some moto laps.” The guy comes back to the shop, downloads the data, and he’s like, “Oh, my god.” I’m like, “What’s up?” He’s like, “90 percent wide open the whole lap! Never seen this before!”"

Kurt Caselli was the same way. Mark at OC KTM got to test with Kurt and they had to use a different material for the jets in his carb because he was literally melting them and sucking them into the motor. Absolutely unreal. Kurt preferred a carbed motor and KTM in Austria was building him a factory carbed motor that was in his WORCS, NHH, and Baja bike with a wide ratio 6 speed. Literally no better sounding bike on the planet than Kurt Caselli’s factory KTM.
