@@normt430 I actually work at the ES assembly plant in KY. It is essentially the same powertrain in all the hybrids built at our factory (Rav, Camry, Avalon and ES) with some minor changes model to model. The big difference between the ES and the Toyota lineup that gives it the luxury “feel” is the amount of padding and sound deadening that goes into it. 2000s Lexus models w/ navigation were all touch screen except for the 1st gen IS. My guess as to why they went with joysticks/touchpads in the 2010s was to lengthen the center console area to accommodate bigger mobile device and cup holder spaces. But mostly it was gimmicky, so as to compete with the Germans. Glad they went back. And not just with touch screens, but also still be able to use a touchpad.

@Peter P. The rebound in Cadillac Escalade sales during the fourth quarter represents a strong performance following the 56 percent drop in Q3 2020. As such, the ‘lade remained the best-selling model in the full-size luxury SUV segment, with a dominant 45 percent segment share, meaning that the Escalade almost outsold all rivals combined, including: Lincoln Navigator (see Lincoln Navigator sales), which came in second place with 5,042 deliveries for a 24 percent segment shareInfiniti QX80, which took third place with 4,832 deliveries and 23 percent segment shareLexus LX, which came in last place with 1,636 deliveries and 9 percent segment share. @Peter P. Lexus loses it value just like any other luxury vehicle. So I wouldn't believe the wive's tale about Lexus holding their value. Residual values are set by the banks and the food chain of auction and dealerships just play along to make as much money as they can out the consumers. Edmunds long term test of the Lexus GS loosing over 1/3 of it's value from MSRP. "Resale and Depreciation: We accumulated 20,940 miles on our 2013 Lexus GS 350. Edmunds' TMV® Calculator valued the vehicle at $47,431 based on a private-party sale. The market did not seem to support this price, as CarMax offered us $40,000 and the best we could muster from a private partywas $41,000. This made for 30-percent depreciation from our paid price of $58,377. We were disappointed. 2013 Lexus GS 350 Long-Term Road Test - Wrap-Up 2013 Lexus GS 350 Long-Term Road Test - Wrap-Up Our long-term test of the 2013 Lexus GS 350 is complete after one year and 20,000 miles. Find out how it did in our long-term wrap-up.

Someone who doesn't want to buy an overpriced unreliable POS German car. Someone who wants to keep their luxury car for a long time. BTW, this is the hybrid e-CVT which is extremely reliable and not like a regular CVT.

It’s a great car for people that don’t like sport cars. People that want to pay $50k but are too stingy on gas. Such huge compromise of a car. This car is borderline dangerous on the highway when filled with 4 people and luggage.
