In my opinion you missed one thing about the world cup. It was Messis last chance to win it and the pressure on him at this tournament could not have been bigger. Everyone else in the world did say Argentina could not win it, the Copa win was luck and the teams were too weak. After Maradonas death, everyone in Argentina expected with the help from above cause they are religious Messi has to win it now. And then they started with the loss against Saudi Arabia which made it even harder than it already was. So every goal, every assist, every game he had unbelievable pressure and he did it. No other player in the world cup has this pressure like him, absolutely no one. The penalties were his hardest in his carreer and are not comparable to others in other games. yeah i think this ballondor was a flip of a coin but Messi deserves 7 Ballondors since 2021 Lewandowski deserved it since he won Bundesliga, Dfl Supercup, club world cup, and Uefa supercup 4 trophies (2 more than Messi). He performed well even at international level scoring to earn Poland a draw with Spain and being very good vs Sweden. He also got the golden boot and had more G/A then Messi (65-62). As a dutch man i was very pissed after our match in the wc i started to turn againsr messi. But after this video i kind of changed my mind. Although is still think that some of the games where not fair(please dont start a world war in the comments) it is true that messi scored a lot but looking at were most of those goals came from pens were i think 13 out of 20 goals from messi the entire wc(adjust me if im wrong) Which i think kind of makes sense.
